Yuvi at fault, agreed.

But WI in Lanka (2012) defended 137 against the Lankans who were in their home. Some portion of the blame should go to Dhoni/Mishra/Ashwin also..

#Yuvraj performance
by Suram Verma on Apr 07, 2014 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

It is only Yuvraj and to some extent Dhoni for India's failure in T20 final. First Yuvraj, what ever we say, is not in his frame of mind and body fit to play country cricket after his encounter with illness. He is just in the team due to soft corner of selectors and Dhoni, however, he is just poor in his every appearance after that episode. He should take it easy and say good bye to highly competitive cricket being played at the moment. He is only respected for his earlier performances. It is only due to illness with Yuvraj but many other players in the team are also not steady with their performances like Dhawan, Rhane etc. Secondly, Dohni should have send Raina instead of Yuvraj as it was only just 3 overs left at that time and India was having 7 wickets in hand. Dhoni is not a good planner. He has luck but yesterday it (luck) was not at his side.

I agree with you, Yuvraj is in no frame of mind to play. His body language and look on his face says it all. The damage has already been done. Dhoni too is to be blamed for this. If only he had sent Raina instead of Yuvraj, we would have lifted the T20 cup.

Yuvi
by Sridhar Govindaswamy on Apr 07, 2014 02:13 PM

No one can deny his match winning ability. Only question, every one can see he is struggling with his timing. he lacks confidence. why not take a break, practise well. why weaken our own position by persisting an out of form player? this has probably cost us the match. When we drop Sehwag for his lack of performance, we sould have done that with Yuvi also. why different standards / partisanship?

UV - A mere shadow of his past
by ashutosh pathak on Apr 07, 2014 02:09 PM

Having a positive attitude is key to success and clearly, UV's attitude leaves a lot to desire. Lack of confidence, lack of ability to understand the situation, lack of match practice, basically his lack of form destroyed the team spirit on a whole.. He could have been forgiven had he played the way he did if India were 50/8 or perhaps in the middle overs, but playing defensive shots and not allowing the other inform batsman strike in the last 4 overs is unforgivable! For the big match player he has been in the past, I wish him success in the upcoming IPL from my heart, but my mind says he's just a thing of the past and his IPL innings wouldn't be any different.
It's with a heavy heart that, I wish he retired now as that would allow other more deserving players to be selected in the shorter format of the game and it would help build his reputation back to some extent.

Yuvraj & Dhoni
by Sudhakaran Nair on Apr 07, 2014 02:03 PM  | Hide replies

At the outset, why Dhoni did not send Raina at no. 4 or he himself should have come. When yovraj was struggling for runs, he should have advised him to throw the wicket and give chance to Raina. This was one important game and Yovraj was not bothered about the important. He should be dropped from 20-20 as he is not having confidence of game.

He is a fighter and we have seen many times. But yesterday's he has spoiled his name.
