Agarkar was a very good bowler during the first half his career.I would ran him higher than Zaheer.

He changed his bowling action
by Sunit Kumar on Oct 16, 2013 09:34 PM

and he collapsed after that.
He was expensive but he had a swing on the ball, which he lost after his change in bowling action. I think he got fair chances.

Agarkar-one of India's best pace bowlers
by shambuswamy on Oct 16, 2013 09:30 PM

Very few Indian bowlers can be called pace bowlers and Ajit Agarkar was one of them. A lively bowler who bowled at 140 kph from the first ball. Much maligned by the media and unceremoniously dumped by selectors due to their games of zonal quotas when mediocre slow trundlers like Vinay Kumar are given repeated chances. Agarkar always gave his best for the team whether bowling batting and fielding. Certainly one of the consistently quick bowlers for India who bowled with fire and never shied away from a challenge.

Fully agree. He was a talented cricketer who never realised his full potential. Much was expected from him but was maligned because he was from Mumbai.
