and please... sachin was not a millionaire... he was like us... an aam aadmi... from a middle class family... who did sheer hard work to reach where he is now... so dont put baseless allegations.... this is not fair... sachin ne khud apni mehnat se paisa kamaaya hai... he earned it... he was not millionaire ... he becomes by his hard work and dedication towards cricket....

Award shd be given on the basis of achievements not popularity... Dhyanchand in past and Vishy in present are india's best sportspersons.. corrupt congr govt change the decision of giving award to Dhyanchand in just 24 hrs and awarded it to cong MP Sachin. no doubt, cong ignored greatest sportspersons of india for vote politics only..

Well done Mr. Ojha! If Bharat Ratn is offered to sportspersons, nobody deserves it more than and before Major Dhyan Chand. What Dhyan Chand did to Hockey could never be emulated by Sachin. So Sachin comes at-most second in line (=> second or beyond), and definitely not first.

I dont watch much cricket.... but I have not observied maddness for sportperson than Sachin.... there must be list of valid reasons. Now.... About the award... I dont understand one thing ... the people who are demanding to award for Sir Dhyanchand or other sportperson... were these people sleeping or unconfident about these sportperson greatness... who stop them to request / demand to Govt to award these sportperson before 25/30 years. Anyways... For me... Sir Dhyanchand, SRT, Milkha Singh are greats and people should not compare about there greatness. After 25 years.... People will say the same thing...

Exactly SM, people seem to have woken up very recently and realized that BR should be given to other players.
Conferring the award of BHARAT RATNA in a casual manner like this has taken sheen out of the award itself. It is another xyz award given with political highhandedness. A Bharat Ratna should be the one who renders selfless service to the nation and its people and not the one who achieve something in his own profession - be whatever it may be. Pray, right minds prevail.
