Definitely he is a good player. But younger players should not follow the footsteps of him. Even his form is poor in all forms of games since last 3 years, he continues to play for records. I don't think any country would allow like this. Greatest players like v.richards, Lara, Imran khan, Anil kumble, Rickey ponting, Rahul Dravid etc retired at peak time of their career not like him. BCCi should not allow any body to play for self and records.

sirisha k, Firstly I am glad that a nuthead like you is not part of Indian cricket administration.
Its really sad that professional cricketers around the world have so much respect for Sachin while his Indian fans like you are so cynical.
Mere presence of Tendulkar in the team makes a huge difference. You can never quantify by any statistics.
Anyways, who are you, does anybody know you? At least a billion population of Indian know who Sachin is. Thats all that matters at the end of the day.

it is a fact that sachin got favours from selectors. mathew hadden who scored 400 not out against england was dropped by selectors because of poor form.
indian selectors did not had guts to drop sachin on various occasions
Dhyanchand,Vishwanathan Anand,Kapil Dev,Milka Singh,Abhinav Bindra,Vijay Amritraj,Geet_sethi,Sunil Gavaskar,Leander Paes..congress slapped on the faces of all these legends as there is zero possibility of them coming to campaign for Congress in the next election.

But this guy who delayed retirement by 3 years and in the process spoiled chances of some players such as Manoj_Tiwary,Badrinath and many others is not expected to show such a great gesture in respect of other senior sporting legends.
