fantastic. You deserve an award from our fellow citizens. Out of all we are hearing statements from gavaskar. come on. It is always the case, the public will be made just fools. Long live the bunch.

if you say gavaskar is a chhammcchhhaaa of BCCI, or played selfishly (36 in 60 overs once), or even played politics, thats a different story. but to say he was involved in rackets is totally unacceptable.
You have lost the credibility in billions of cricket fans Mr.Gavaskar. We see you and Shastri as the puppets of the BCCI. Stop dancing to the tunes of the BCCI and Srinivasan. Who are you to tell the cricket lovers to be patient and keep the mouth shut. It is so sad to see none of the past cricketers have come out in the defense of the game instead people like you try to defend the corrupt officials like Srinivasan. Shame on you Mr. Gavaskar.

Agree.SG is acting like a paid servant of Srini which he is.People have lost respect for this former legend. What happened to the SA enquiry which Kirti Azad is asking about? Why is SG silent on that? What happened to the enquiry where huge amount of cash was found in SG's cricket locker? Will any fool keep such big amounts in a cricket locker? Come on Gavaskar, people have seen through you and now no one wants to listen to your homlies.
when more than half of these posters themselves indulge in betting and therefore fixing...
are not they scared that if the police investigate deeply their own names will come out...
as an example i give shikari shambu's name who himself has admitted that he bets and lost huge money betting on mi and csk in previous ipls and hence angry with both these teams as well as sachin and dhoni
Re: so many posters

though your approach of "i am the only one who is clean" sucks, let me clear your half-baked knowledge.
1. if a friendly bet in 2008 between 2 brothers can be called "admitted that he bets and lost huge money", then 99% of indians would be in jail since this happens between people on various accounts. i am sure everyone of us will have challenged somebody and won/lost something in that process.
2. "huge money"...? again a fragment of your perverted imagination. 1000 INR between brothers is "huge money"?? Grow up, we have crossed the 1990s.
3. "lost huge money betting on mi and csk in previous ipls and hence angry with both these teams as well as sachin and dhoni"...? i always knew you do not possess the sense to understand messages properly. though your imagination runs faster than light, it is running in a wrong direction.
Coming back to your first 2 lines, do you agree if NS indulges in "betting & therefore fixing" being the BCCI president, a team owner and India Cements boss? In my case, the guy who won was my brother & the guy who lost was me. End of the story..... What abt the case like NS's soninlaw? Haven't they involved more than 1 outsider in it?
Now tell me, why should I be scared if I bet once with my brother?

ss, firstly you never said it was with you brother that you betted...it is now that you are saying this...
secondly as far as i remember the amount involved was not 1000 rs...at that time if i remember correctly you had said that you had lost something close 20000.
actually if what you are saying now is correct then it probably does not come under the term betting. it is more a friendly wager.
i am talking about the real bettting going on...that is who really bet with the bookies in hope of getting big money.
so if as you claim now betted with only your brother then you can count yourself out amongst those real betters that i was talking about...

1. At that point of time, I felt it was irrelevant to say with whom I had betted. I mentioned it because you accused me of something I dint do. 2. Even in "friendly wagers" I wouldn't bet a paisa more than 1k :)

about your other point...about more than 1 outsider involved...actually NS is neither accused of fixing nor of betting...it is his son in law who is accused of betting (whether he is also under suspicion of fixing nothing has come out)...also betting and fixing are 2 different things...when i said ''betting and therefore fixing'' i was only as a reaction to the general public perception that meiyappan was accused of betting and therefore ''he also must be guilty of fixing''...i would also like to point out here that he is supposed to have lost 1 cr. on betting (at least that is what is reported)
ss you said that bet was between you and your brother...i would like to point out that such is not the case here and meiyappan and srinivasan indulged in no betting amongst themselves...whether srinivasan himself indulged in any betting or fixng as yet no one knows about that...
let me repeat it is the son in law who is accused ...and so far no nexus has been established between him and his father in law...they are 2 different persons and what they do in their independent capacity does not mean both are guilty..

That is why i said that you dont understand what people write. When did I say NS was involved? Please read my sentence again SLOWLY and carefully. I gave 2 instances: 1. Do you agree if NS indulges blahblah..... 2. What abt the case like NS's soninlaw blahblah.....
How else a can bounty of Rs 1.5 Cr [from BCCI one-time benefit scheme] speak? Same will be the refrain from Shastri, Vishwanath, Kirmani, Vengsarkar, Kapil [each 1.5 Cr], Amarnath, Sidhu [1Cr each] & others! We are not Surprised, Mr Gavaskar!

BCCI officials who are demanding resignation are also crooks and onetime associates of Srinivasan. Modi, Jaitley, Shukla, Pawar, Subroto Roy, Kochi and DC owners - all of them were crime in partners. So now suddenly they are pretending to be virtuous. It is true that Srinivasan has done a lot for players (yes, that includes Rahul Dravid too) and that's why they are loyal to him.
Guys please be patient, The enquiry will establish that Gurunath is not the real son in law but the honorary son in law of Srinivasan and hence All is well. He only had enthusiasm for Mr Srinivasans daughter. Thats it.
