Why Resign? Here are reasons....
by Hitesh Vaghela on May 28, 2013 01:49 PM  | Hide replies

1. person who gives so much rights to his enthusiastic son-in-law that he can take part in IPL Auction (where million of money spends), he can share CSK dressing room with players, he can give interview as a CSK owner, he can attend IPL Owner's workshop, can take part in CSK Team Strategy BUT HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HIS SON-IN-LAW DOING? IF HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT HIS SON-IN-LAW AND CAN'T MANAGE HIM, HOW HE CAN MANAGE BCCI? And he doesn't know anything what is going on his under, all IPL & BCCI Scam happens...
2. What is in the BCCI Chair? Why he is not ready to leave...he spends more time at India Cement office, he will get better reward....but he doesn't want to leave BCCI...because he can earns thousand crores at BCCI through scam
3. He himself says I don't watch more cricket....if you don't watch cricket then give this chair to someone who likes to watch each match
4. He made all corrupt practice through legal way....a. change BCCI constitution and purchase CSK franchisee ownership b. Change BCCI constitution to elect second term as a president c. all commenters he gives money as a fee through BCCI so no one can speak against him or BCCI d. keep all state association happy so no one can raise voice against him

IT IS SHAMEFUL TO ALL US INDIAN THAT SUCH CORRUPT AND MORALESS CLUB (CALLED BCCI) IS REPRESENT INDIA AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL....ONE SHOULD DO PIL AGAINST THIS....1. WHAY BCCI REPRESENT INDIA? 2. WHAY GOVT GIVES SO MUCH EXCEPTION TO BCCI? ALL SHOULD STOP....

Srini is a most powerful man ever in BCCI : 1. He is daring to resign just like Dhoni (as said "Team needs me") 2. He is hiding his son-in-law in his holiday home for 02 days after match fixing issues, 3. He is interfering Team selection, 4. He has sacked Mohinder Amarnath such a great exp CKT everhard, 5. Now, out of 30 BCCI members, No one dare to ask him to resign till trial was over. 6. He has told, Meiyappan only a honorary member not a team owner (how IPL chairman sending mail to him as a Owner with other Team Owners, then SRK, Neeta, etc not Owners !), In what capacity he is participating in player auction, entry in dugout, his batch as Team owner/Principal etc. How he is introducing his friends to players ?

This is all drama created by media and the guys against of Srinivasan's growth. Millions of people in Tamilnadu knows how he is. Not only giving employment to thousands of people but unlike others he takes care of each and every individual in his companies. Media please stop unnecessary abuse of people whom u don't like. There r other burning topics which u can focus to improve the country.

At BCCI, so called good person, has abuse power for his family and business...he takes BCCI at possibly lowest level and cricket at fun....instead of gentalman's game now it is known as Fixer and Bookies game...

Also there are so many Shadu - Saints...who do so many good / charity work at Day and all black work - sex scandal at Night.....Remember not all white are milk......

what he is doing in cricket? any genuine person should resign immediately if his son in law caught in betting charges. he is corrpt that is clearly proven. yes media is not doing their duty properly, otherwise he should be thrown out long back.

Srinivasan might still be the good guy,who has done good to lot of people. We will be happy that he continues doing the same.
But in BCCI, he has abused power. Instead of wasting his precious time on holding onto power in BCCI, he should focus on his larger philanthropic activities

double standard of BJP. Where Jaitely, Sushma / Modi gone ? When they have Halt the parliament in same Bansal case (by halting to pass Food security, Land acquisition etc...), why even they have not asked once to resign on moral grounds & for fair trial ? How a under scanner Team Boss is awarding Trophy to a hardworking side ? Srinivasan is so powerful ?

Good to see Shamath Mazumdar is a cricket enthusiast. One cricket enthusiast supporting father-in-law of another cricket 'enthusiast'!

Shamath Mazumdar, you need not masquerade as a cricket enthusiast. All you have written here is desperate defence of Mr. Srinivasan. Don't blame the media. Atleast somebody is questioning his brazen abuse of power & privilege within BCCI. His coterie ensures they are not answerable to anyone.

If he is s successful corporate honcho, He does not need a basic lesson on corporate governance. BCCI is not his family owned business for him to run it as per his whims & fancies.

you cannot change the rules of the game to ensure you will all the time. This unfair attitude has created this hatred for him among the masses. If promoting his sidekicks like Srikanth, Sivaramakrishnan & their family by bending rules, the rest of country is not going the remain a silent observor.

Mr. Srinivasan is also accused of Nepotism, corporate misgovernance, abuse of law under which BCCI is governed.

You cannot brush away these allegations under the garb of his style & personality.

Next time please come with a more plausible justification for why Srinivasan has to stay.

I wish my write up would put all these sharad pawars behind bars. I would be glad to oblige.

But it cringes me that people justify their actions with such reasons.

No room for any fairness?

Fairness begins by giving the man an opportunity to prove that he is innocent. You cannot be led by media-trial and prove a person guilty. Indian media sucks. Every evening you switch on the TV to know what is the latest news only to switch it off hurriedly in order not to listen to the mad shouting of "Arnab Goswamis" of the world. There is no news only debates! Please do not get carried away. Mr Srinivasan should be allowed to prove himself and you do not expect him to resign based on moral assassination by some one in the media.

Agreed. He should be given a chance to prove himself, by answering the public (media) & justifying his side of the story.

Instead, he says, I am not answerable to public(media) since I am elected & nobody in BCCI has asked me to resign.

Why should he ??
by Venkatesh Sekhar on May 28, 2013 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

Did Manmohan resigned when a host of his party men were instrumental to bringing loss to the country.

In case of betting, its like a pure business decision, they have not robbed public anything. If public is not happy or feel IPL is a cooked up / fixed games, please do not go to ground to watch the match. If there is no gate collection, how BCCI or individual team can run the show??

With all options in the hands of public, there is no need to blame others.

you want to justify using big thief, small thief logic. That is so lame.

Betting is a business decision. But in a country like india, it is still not legal as we dont have policing system in place to keep it legal without manipulations like fixing from taking place.

IPL has not been made big by these corporate honchos. It has been made by cricketers who are national assets. BCCI has monopoly rights to these assets. These same assets have been built up over decades by ticket paying public.

Please be clear who is responsible for whom.

Mr Srinivasan has Lied.............
by NDS sanjay on May 28, 2013 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

I can't understand why he lied about his Son-in-law being only a Cricket Enthusiast and not the Owner of Chennai Super Kings, when there are so many evidences of his being the Owner. Hence Mr Gurunath being the owner of Chennai Super Kings, It has to be Scrapped because of the Owner's Arrest in Betting & Match Fixing

We may call Gurunath Meiyappan as Guru Not Meiyappan.

Leaving that aside, Owner of CSK is India Cements Ltd., Since India Cements is not an individul, Guru was representing the company.

India Cements Ltd., is a public limited company, all share holders are part owner of CSK team. Can all the share holders of India Cements Ltd., be bared from Cricket ??

As per provisions of Companies Act, 1956 and Hon'ble SC's explicit ruling, a Company is a separate entity distinct from its Directors and Share-holders. Therefore, India Cements, as a Company is liable for any acts of omission & commission as well as any legal transgression.

Chennai city franchise was awarded to India cements creating an entity called CSK. This franchise arrangement entitles them to rights as well as obligations. I am pretty sure the obligations would be not to indulge in malpractices like betting & fixing by franchise holders India cements.Such violations will include penal clauses like scrapping the franchise.

Now India cements as a franchise owner, provided a power of attorney to Guru to act on its behalf as part of a employment contract.

By this linkage, actions of Guru implicate India cements and thus the CSK franchise.

Acceptable remedy is to dissolve the current franchise & reauction the chennai franchise to other qualified buyers
