(contd..)..So the question is can this side win the CT or at least make it to the semis ? Thanks to IPL now the Indian side is as good a fielding side as any in the world. So, Fielding pass. Next the bowling. The spin deptt. is the best available, so spin also pass. Pace attack does look a wee bit weak. But this is the best available and is reasonably good attack.It remains to be seen how Irfan Pathan performs and if PK would have been a better choice for the English conditions ? Now comes batting. Would GG and Yuvi be missed ? Will Murali Vijay deliver at the top considering his woeful form in IPL ? Yuvi of course looks not very fit and perhaps the selectors did not want to take any risk. GG possibly was excluded in the interest of better team cohesion! Will Rohit Sharma come good or fail yet again for the nth time ? How useful DK going to be ? That is why the question that comes to mind is why Cheteshwar Pujara has not been selected ? CP along witg Shikhar Dhavan would have made a good opening pair. Now only Dhoni.Virat,Raina and Jadeja are the main stay as far as the batting and the middle order is concerned. Inclusion of CP certainly would have strengthened batting.
Sehwag out. Now it is Gambhir and Yuvraj out. Zaheer and Bhajji gone long back. Sachin retired. So this CT side is completely new look young side with only Dhoni being the lone senior in the squad.The selectors seem to be sending very clear signal to left out seniors that they are not going to be part of 2015 squad unless they perform. So far so good. But it is natural controversy surrounds some names selected and not selected as the criteria is not clear.IPL has been considered so Dinesh Kartik, Rohit Sharma, Amit Mishra,Vinay Kumar.Umesh yadav and Ishant Shrama get in.But Murali Vijay,Irfan Pathan ? Then why not Gambhir or Praveen Kumar ? Looks to be different criteria for different people ? OK, ultimately it is the result that is going to matter.If Dhoni & co. do well and bring back the CT after a long break then all selection wrangles are going to be forgotten. But if they fail or do badly then Dhoni is going to face the music for sure.
Yes yes Yes dhoni is successful in booting all his rivals out of the team....started with Harbajan, Sehwag, Zak, Gambhir, Yuvraj....now all his puppets who do Dhoni Bhajan are in......now its DHONI's (Srinivasan's Team) not INDIAN team.....Sehwag is key contributer in making INDIA TEST NO.1 and Yuvraj & Gambhir are key contributors in T20 & ODI Wcup win..........Yuvraj lacks form I agree then how about M Vijay as he can not find place in IPL XL but he finds place in INDIAN TEAM

END OF INDIAN DOMINANCE in WORLD CRICKET.........wonder how player of Jadeja's quality is preferred above Yuvraj and M Vijay who is equally out of form find place.....Yuvraj & Gambhir are big match players....gambhir...75 & 97 in T20 & ODI world cup final's......no mention about Yuvraj's heriocs....T20 W-cup is won single handedly by Yuvraj and Players of seres in ODI world cup
Gambhir's place has been taken by another left hander Dhavan,and Yuvraj's place has been taken by another all rounder Jadeja.Team seems well balanced.Karthik's selection as a batsman is surprising with Raina and Rohit sharma also finding place in the 15 member squad.
