This is one of the most balanced squads we have got in the recent times for a world tournament. Atlast, the bowling looks settled and decent - Umesh , Ishant , Bhuvi and Ashwin. The spinner replacement, Mishra, is also not a bad choice. The batting is what is irking fans and not for nothing. Kohli, Dhoni, Raina , Dhawan get their places. Going by his recent form , DK seems likely to get in as well, not sure if as an opener or in the middle. The inclusion of MV has stirred flames. But, if i remember, the reactions were the same before the start of Aussie series. So, you never know. Also, It might not be a bad thing in England to have an opener who sees off the shine. The remaining spot is a tussle between Jaddu/Rohit/Pathan and makes for an interesting viewing!! many people ( especially with lots of cricket knowledge like kiran ) before commenting should realise that this team is not picked just by IPL performance alone !!!
Good selection, out of form lads have been axed.......brave and fair . no point in selecting players just for the past performances. Gambhir and Yuvi are not in good form to be considered give them a break to prove their ability again , also it is good chance for others to prove.

your statement shows u do not have knowledge of cricket.
do u know what is form? IPL cannot be basis of form. IPL is a entertainment program, it is not sports. Also IPL is T20 and it is played in India.
The team is for ODI and that too in England. Which means, more than half of the new team is not fit for selection. They selected based on BIAS for CSK .

CSK biased Dhoni spoilt all spirit and created diffrences among players.Dhoni is selfish as he removed all players who felt they can be threat to his captaincy.Form cannot be judged in T20 formats.

Mind it, India is not going to play in spinners turning track. They have to face green bouncy track in England. It will be a disaster. India is going to be defeated in all the matches. They should pick VS, GG, YS, SRT, RD, SCG, VVSL, if want to win.

India will be wiped out in all matches in England with flop international players like Jadeja and Sharma...

Yes, Dhoni is the Chief Selector. The selection committee, headed by former cricketer Sandeep Patil does not have any power to overrule the dictum of Dhoni. The selection committee, headed by former cricketer Sandeep Patil are holding their post for money only. They are nothing but puppet in the hands of Dhoni and Srinivasan.
This team clearly shows bias against players from North . IPL can't be the criteria to pick ODI or Test Sides . Completely ridiculous selection . Yuvraj Singh has fared well in ODI's . No Manoj Tiwary ,Yuvraj , Praveen Kumar , Rayudu . Its more of a Chennai Super Kings Team within Team India . I don't think guys like Ashwin , Jadeja , Vijay,Raina or Dhoni himself would have the skills to perform at bouncy tracks like Edgbaston and Headingley .They might be very players , but only for sub continent pitches , not for bouncy tracks like in England or South Africa .
Congrats to Dinesh kartick for making it finally. with spin legend R Ashwin and swashbuckling opener murali vijay the team is all set to win Champions trophy. I would have been if young Abhinav Mukund too had been selected. the only player who has not performed but still getting chances is jr master plaster godgifted Rohit sharma
I think Yuvi has been doing fairly well in one dayers. withut gambhir.sehwag yuvi and tendu in the ranks the opposition will feel better . Praveen kumar would have neem better than vinay kumar.
