Hold your horses please will you! This vijay Dhawan story will be more seen in overseas conditions like NZ,SA and England. Hope it doesn't end in a tragedy. For there is every chance of meeting their Waterloo. One test innings doesn't make a hero. For they may run with their tail up in the next match as has been seen with so many players in the past. Wishing them however all success.

This Indian team will win here and abroad

When you whitewash the Australians, you have achieved a lot. This is especially true because India were considered finished after their Australia/England series. India amazingly recovered rapidly and now has the best team in a long time. This team should handily beat any team here or abroad, this include South Africa.

Let the guys lose and learn .. its ok. just for this sake we cannot persist with gavaskar and kapil looking at their records.
We need young blood into the team.

Debabrata,
Why? You had too much alcohol last night?

Or its just the mere constipation which gets you into hallucination?

As a well wisher I have advised Dhoni to step down. Otherwise after 11-0 defeat overseas (4 Eng, 4 SA and 3 NZ) he will be thrown out; the reason is - his godfather Srinivasan will not be there.

A bengali will be unhappy for Ganguly over thrown and Dhoni took over and got the highest test match victory. Leave it. Let him be in his dream.

A Bengali is not at all unhappy but bringing in regionalism is the proof that no logic exist.Ganguli has not been overthrown but he retired from the test and that too in style & even scoring centuries in the last seris. As a Captain he is the first man who started the fight back & showed how to look in the eye of the Australians. The strong opponents he faced at his time are now nowhere which has made India looking strong.

Debabrata, don't worry Dhoni's grave is dug. He will be 6 feet under after a couple of overseas series.

Dhoni lost 4-0 to aus and 4-0 to england thanks to the two openers who are no longer in the team! They both played politics and rightfully dumped! Now gambhir cant stomach the wins without his being in the team and so he downplays the victory achieved by the team now! As far as SA is concerned they arent doing too well against pakistan currently. HAshim amla is having a dream run with the bat which will catch up with laws of average and then see the SA team. If dale steyn fails to fire, their bowling is nothing to write about.

Have you seen SA play recently? In tests I mean, they have two world class seamer in Stayne and Morkel, they also have Phulander. They have Amla, Kallis, Smith, Duplesis and devilliers. I hope India does well against them in SA. But I have doubt with Vijay. He has scored only 4 over fifty runs this season, 3 of them against Australia and one in Irani trophy, this guy can not score runs in Ranji also. I hope he does well in SA but I have serious doubt regarding this.

Yes there was an all out effort to belittle Dhoni to glorify dada and there was no mean role played in it by dada ganguly in that either. That has been proved wrong in this defeat. Srinivasan was right in backing Dhoni as you always need to back a winning horse and not a limping one. And dear Debabrata Dhoni has overrseas wins against both SA and NZ which Dada has NOT DONE. So please note facts and stats are stacked in favor of Dhoni there too. Don't run away from reality. Accept bitter truth which is bitter to you ofcourse. LAUGH

Right you are but Dada has not faced such humiliating defeat abroad. Neither been beaten in the home ground and lost the seris to England. Most of the key players who played for Australia & SA during Dada's time have retired by now making the task easy for the Indian side.Statistics are very important no doubt but also is important to note the playing condition and the caliber of the teams faced by India at that time.

Ganguly's overseas test records.
by SUBROTO RAY on Mar 28, 2013 08:03 PM  | Hide replies

Out of 11 matches Ganguly won as captain overseas 6 were against Bangladesh and Zimbawabe and out of the remaining five one each against Sri Lanka and Pakistan where you get similar conditions as home. His records overseas are therefore not as imposing as made out to be. Dhoni can get there with a little luck if he can play series against any team other than SA England and Australia overseas. He has already Qualified as India's most successful captain by quite a margin now.

Sorry totally disagree.Dhoni just rode on his luck. Will go ahead no doubt only by more cricket in India with weaker teams like this Australian team. Before the ball is bowled one was sure about the outcome.Mere comparaison on number of matches won in overseas will not get you anywhere, it is the caliber of the team you faced & the playing condition.Just like you cannot compare Sir Donald Bradman with anybody simple for the reason that he plaid agaist the fastest bowlers of all time and that too without helmet. If Dhoni is the gratewst where the great Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi stands who is to most cricketing Critics was all time great. Ganguli stands as per Captain merits is concerned, next to him.
