Prior to this series, Dhoni lost 10 of 12 tests, won 1 and drew 1. This includes 4-0 defeat in England on true cricketing tracks, 4-0 defeat in Australia on true cricketing tracks and 2-1 defeat to England in India on doctored `spin friendly' tracks. His 4-0 win against Australia was on doctored `spin friendly' tracks (they were virtual dust bowls). One may be proud as an Indian for the white-wash, but as a cricket lover do you really want such dusty tracks where Ashwin and Jadeja (why, even Lyon and Maxwell - a surprise) open the attack and the matches finish in 3 days! On the same tracks, the England team that won the series 2-1 against India here would have won 4-0 if they were lucky like Australia to have won the toss on all the 4 occasions! Let us wait and see how well this young team (and for that matter Dhoni the captain) does in South Africa against Steyn and Co.

when cricket is played on green tops in SA, Aus, NZ or Eng then why u dont say ball should spin..why they play 4 pacers there? 1 lone spinner hardly bolls..if we need to prove on so called true pitches (hard to identify pitch & outfield) then they also need to play here on spin pitches..whats wrong there?
Then India would have ranked 10th in ICC ranking. It's only the home matches that is keeping India within top 5. Next time India should start playing in Paddyfield
Let him draw the series atleast outside India not in bangladesh. We know how good we are at home. He & his team has no potential to show outside India.
dhoni is in the same phase as gangu da was. no doubt dhoni is a great captain & a great cricketer , yet some how he has his prejudices & bias- which is quite normal. Gangu always promoted merit - sehwag , bhajji , yuvraj ,zaheer, pathan were supported & backed by him on merits. Dhoni somehow was always prejudiced - sehwag , gambhir , srisanth , piyush chawla, pathans, tiwari , amit mishra suffered beacuse of it. the major fall out between him & sehwag centred around amit mishra vs pragyan ojha. sehwag always rated mishra beteer than ojha. But all in all Dhoni has his own reasons of backing raina , jadeja etc. But the important thing is that these two have performed & justified dhoni's faith.

Manoj Tiwari was the worst sufferer.Dropped after scoring a century in the onde day game he played.
But it does not give enough insight to jump into conclusions. We will get more inputs during SA tour.
We shouldn't judge them in that series by the result, but with the technique and intent of their play. As long as that is there, they can be given more opportunities to learn and improve.
