dhoni knows how to get entire credit of the series. unfit batsman played in final. last 5 overs-30balls-24runs, 24-21, 18-19, 12-17, 6-15 all felt he scored in 3 balls. truth, he took 18 deliveries to score 15 runs.

Shilpa you are right.IPL is not international cricket.Team India needs Yuvraj Singh & for him to be accomodated Dinesh Karthik or M.Vijay can make the way.

Dhoni as a batsman Test Avg over all 39.0, Test avg overseas 28.0, No overseas century or match winning inning in test career even after playing 77 test. T-20 Strike rate- 113, No fifty or match winning inning in entire career even after playing 42 matches ODI- Good avg manipulated due to no. of not out innings & manipulative batting position. Even in ODI most runs scored on flat indian wicket against team like Pak/SLK & no overseas century. Dhoni overseas ODI avg is just 39 with no match winning inning. If you remove his no. of not out innings(52 times), his avg drops less than 35 even in ODI. As a wicketkeeper- Dropped catches in almost every match.
Dhoni test average outside In WI 2006, 24 In SA 2006, 26 In AUS 2007, 17.62 In SA 2011, 35.8 ( one inning of 90 when styen/morkel was kept out of attack for 2-3 hrs) In WI 2011- 19.5 ( score of 0,16,2, 5 & 74(only one good inning when WI was operating with bowlers like bishoo/chandrapaul & front line bowler rampaul/shammi etc was resting due to injury). In Eng 2011- 30.0 In Aus 2012- 20.0 As a captain good record only on indian pitches. Overseas he has lost more test matches(09) than what he won(05) Win includes SLK, Bng, WI & NZL. All other wicketkeeper batsman like Mat prior, Mclumn, Deviller, sangarkara are worldclass & have many match winning overseas inning while mediocre dhoni has none. He is simply made by add agency, media & political fans by hyping his small success as big & h
I am not writing this message to insult Dhoni. I am not a Dhoni hater. But before everybody starts worshipping him blindly.I would like to point out a few facts. 1. Champions Trophy 2013: yes we won but can anyone remember england pitches being so spin friendly before. Most of the pitches were so flat that 330 runs were being chased so easily. Start watching ashes and bounce and swing of england pitches now. Aussies and england both teams found batting there was not easy. 2. There was too much fuss in India about match fixing. Post CT its vanished. Reason : We needed a trophy to forget all this. CT2013 will be India's then who will care about spot fixing. England pitches were not bouncy in CT. They were ideal for indian batsmen. So that they could easily win. BCCI is a very rich board. What if they had pulled a few strings with England cricket board and made india win. 3. Dhoni and this new 'young' team india can only bat on flat tracks. They can never do the same on a pitch similar to ashes. I would personally like to see these new boys to play on a bouncy and swinging conditions and I bet that they will fail.

Dear Akash, I think you don't have cricketing brain... Because you think India won the champions trophy by fixing, it means all teams, their players, boards are involve in match fixing with India... But why they agree??? Next Point, if they won on flat tracks, then why not won by any other team, there was also the same track for them as well.

I do agree with you Delhi city They are the best players on a FLAT track. But real cricketing class can be evaluated only on a true sporting pitch. A pitch which has juice for both batsmen and bowlers. This new Indian team will have to prove them on such tracks. I dont remember them playing on any such pitch and winning
Re: Re: hmmm

I did not say that all the other teams were involved but you will have to agree with me that the pitches in CT were spinner friendly and flat. You can search through all of cricketing history, English pitches were never like this. They never prepared such tracks. Why all of a sudden they prepared such tracks for this tournament? I agree that this argument may seem a little far-fetched, but I still think there was something fishy.

Akash..you mean to say even weather of England was fixed???Come on Akash at least if you can't respect to fellow Indians at least learn to accept.Pls dont make these childish comments!!!

When it rains the pitch gets moistened.Moisture on a grassy pitch cause the ball to swing more and the track becomes difficult to play on.
But if the pitches were dry before raining, cracks develop which causes the ball to turn more and come to the bat a little late.English pitches were dry during CT. They were developed dry by English curators. They never before developed dry pitches. In past they would always leave grass on pitches. Whenever it rained the pitches became more spinner friendly rather than becoming seem friendly because they did not leave enough grass on it.
Why the pitches were not grassy for this tournament(CT)?
Watch Ashes series being played in England.Check the bouncy and fast tracks now. You will have an idea.

So, in a way you agree that no other team in the world can ever play on spin tracks and we are best. At least, give India that much credit

Dear Akash, fact is dhoni and team cnt play on fast and bouncy pitches. Only exception is kohli who can play anywhere. Dhoni himself cudnt score even a single ton outside asia in 8years. Other Asian WK have scored, even agarkar, kumble, ratra too scored century overseas. Dhoni's test average in WI,aus, eng,SA is 18,22,31,34 which shows hiS batting capability.
Another fact is dhoni plays well only when team is in comfortable position(yesterday inning was exception).
As far as captaincy is concerned even a cgrADe pAk team has thrashed youngistan on homesoil, team cudnt win t20 series vs NZ(same dhoni played in atest match manner and lost an easily won game and he let kohli's brilliant innings down).
but the problem here is that nobody wants to accepT the TRuth. no doubt dhoni n others are gud batsman but only on flatTRacks :)

u are 100% right mr akash. Srinivasan has purchased last two trophys for india to divert IPL fixing scam. Winning in last over was all pre planned. India could have easily chased it in 45 overs, but it was all drama to save BCCI & politician dhoni
Dhoni is truly a gifted cricketer. I have never seen such a combination of talent, sheer shrewdness, risk taking ability and above all being calm and unruffled all rolled in one in any player. He needs to play the next World Cup and win it for India too. All the best!

Hope he will score atleast one century overseas(against quality bowling and fast bouncy pitches) and atleast one halfcentury in international t20 before RETIREMENT :)

Dear Dhoni, Hearty Congratulations. You proved to the world, How a Captain and Selfless Player should have been. Let others realize it. Congrats again.
Guys in this forum have the right to abuse me as I was not a big fan of Dhoni till yesterday. I ve changed my mindset and appreciate the service provided by Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni towards the nation. Yes I stil believe that he is the master mind behind removing the great Rahul Dravid,VVS Laxman, Anil kumble, Saurav Ganguly, Virendra Shewag, Gautam Gambhir and few more.
Have we all forgotten the humiliations we got overseas? and also all his invovements in IPL, sports management company and other his other money making activities? Just fooling the public and hiding all his black marks.
He is never a class test cricketer... he is just a moneymaker fooling the people

Are you waiting for India to loose??? Is it that what you mean to say. That is the reason why we Indians were ruled over by Mughals,Britishers for close to 500 years.Still we are not learning.Crab mentality is still on.Had Dhoni been an Australian or South-African I am sure most of us would not have made such irresponsible comments.
