BCCI played spoilsport
by Venugopalan on Jan 29, 2013 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

it is very difficult to imagine if pujara & jadeja were included in saurashtra what might be the outcome..but BCCI is guilty in denying their presence for no good reason..at least they could have released Pujara who was not selected for the last ODI and who was in good form. He was an inspiration for other members. Anyway Mumbai showed why they are called champions again and again..give them the credit THEY ARE the BEST Ranji trophy team in India.

Jadeja was in playing eleven so he could not be relieved. Keeping back Pujara was a mistake. He is a genuine test player and has np place in one day.

To simply assume that Pujara and Jadeja would have changed Saurashtra's fortunes is ridiculous. Given the margin of Mumbai's victory, it would be insane to conclude that 1 or 2 batsmen would have made a big diffence. Besides this, if Saurashtra missed Pujara and Jadeja, Mumbai were deprived of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane.

Also don't forget that Pujara's 200s this season came at Rajkot, which is recognized as one of the flattest wickets in India. He score them against weak bowling attacks of MP & Karnataka.

Saurashtra did a great job reaching the finals but lost to a superior opponent. Lets be sporting and acknowledge this fact!

Pujara does well only on flat tracks in Rajkot and with short boundaries.

Wasim Jaffar
by Marathi Indian on Jan 29, 2013 11:37 AM

Wasim Jaffar had a lot of potential and determination, He is a class test player but continuously ignored. Check his test record and also the last series in which he played. We are playing a person who is not in form as a opener and wasting a real talent

with in india, they are the undisputed kings. unfortunately, when it comes to representing the national colours, not many shine. only gavaskar, vengsarkar, shastri and tendulkar are class acts. rest are just like any other ordinaries.

Pujara- Unfair
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jan 29, 2013 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

Pujara and Jadeja would have made a big difference . Jaffers 132 was the differencein the end. You never know a Pujara double cannot be ruled out , he was in such roaring form and Jadeja is no mug in Ranji either.
It was cruel to keep Pujara on the bench, either thye should have played him in the Indian team or allowed him to play the final.

If a double 100 from Pujara is taken for granted, what is the reason Pujara did'nt make three successive double hundreds against England in test matches?

Pujara scored 2 double hundreds in his last 2 Ranji matches. YOu think his presence would have made no diffrence? Just imagine if Pujara had scored a hundred , itwould ahve changed the whole complexion of the finals.

Not fair enough
by George Sam on Jan 29, 2013 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

Saurashtra was left without the services of their best player - Cheteshwar Pujara by the polictics of BCCI. I am not saying that that was the sole difference but yes his absence did have a big impact in the team's morale. What did BCCI do with Pujara - gave him a free Bharat Darshan and made him freeze and warm the benches!! He could have atleast got a consolation match playing for Team India in the final ODI atleast! Most surprsingly Rohit also gets to sit out inspite of a match winning knock in the 4th ODI and Gambhir gets a recall for what?? I guess you can't leave the wining captain of the IPL out of team India. as the IPL is round the corner, so it affects the commercial numbers!!!

Chateshwar Pujara and Ravindu Jadeja were supposed to play for Saurashtra. Pujara was taken into Indian One day squad but never played a match, he missed important match.
BCCI is hand in glove to favor an easier final for Mumbai.
Cheaters Mumbai always conspire to win.

Mumbai, a team that intimidates... and dominates!

So basically it means that the Mumbai team is a team of bullies?

If so, then it's not surprising!

Mumbai's clout in Indian Cricket is undeniable!

After all, a shrewd business tycoon like Mukesh Ambani wouldn't waste his time and money on any other team in I P L!
