Take Dhaval Kulkarni, Jaffer in Test team & Abhishek Nair in
by ravi bapat on Jan 29, 2013 03:46 PM  | Hide replies

Congratulation Mumbai cricket team. As usual you played like khadoos cricket team. Hope this will help some of Mumbai players to get opportunity in test and ODI and they should capitalize it like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

BCCI should have allowed Pujara, Rahane and Jadeja to play Ranji final. We missed the real fight because two star players from Saurashtra were absent. But this means Saurashtra was not deserving Ranji, they were too much depending on their star players.

Till the time we are captained by northie dhongi, mumbai players have no chance of being included in team india pvt. ltd.(Owner srinivasan). Mumbai players have to opt for some other team like delhi or csk to get chance in team india pvt. ltd.

well said. dhoni destroyed agarkar's career in last 4 years. he also made sure sachin exited unpleasantly from the team. he is not giving chances to abhishek nayar, dhaval kulkarni, ajinkya rahane etc.

Renji trophy
by Jomesh George on Jan 29, 2013 03:31 PM  | Hide replies

When IPL is palyed no international matches are there for TeamIndia.During the knockout stages of Renji trophy same theory should be applied. So international players will not miss renji knockouts.Congratulations to Mumbai i don't think many teams are there who won a particular championship 40 times in the history of world sports.

Agarkar was, is and will always be a complete cricketer.

Great bowler, decent batsman, committed fielder and above all a man of ethics.

These qualities are no longer required by Indian team led by an idiot called dhobi.

MUMBAI... A CHAMPION SIDE?????
by MANOJ TRIVEDI on Jan 29, 2013 03:12 PM  | Hide replies

In group stages MUMBAI had only 1 outright victory against MP by very narrow margin.

Semifinal, if it would have been played for whole tenure, things might have been different.

Finals, If R. Jadeja & Pujara had been released to play final. The match might have been still on.

Anyway, Congrats to MUMBAI side for Winning 40th Title.

Rahane and Rohit would replace who? They would have made minimal difference. Pujara and Jadeja are mainstays of Saurashtra , cannot be compared.

Trivedi, Until semifinals Uttar pradesh was top on points table....in Semis they disappeared. The team who was playing in 44th Ranji finals knows how and when to raise the performance....

Pujara not a match winner for saurashtra
by B Raja on Jan 29, 2013 02:08 PM  | Hide replies

Pujara has been playing for the last 7 years...Not even once did saurashtra qualify for finals. Would it mean that whenever pujara scores saurashtra do not qualify for finals???
I am a big pujara fans..I think it would have been a good final if he was there. But the 39 times champiions would have still won on a lively mumbai pitch

If he plays well for this team he will be stuck with it forever!

Agarkar is a ominous example of this fact!

He has made a smart decision to stay away from this team!

Another wasted season..

Nobody in the current Mumbai team is good enough for earning India cap. Mumbai is riding on oldies like Agarkar and Jaffer. It is humorous to see Dhaval Kulkarni terrorizing domestic sides. One match against Australia would bring him crashing down..

Nobody in the indian team were capable of fighting England and Australia overseas. Lets Play team srinivasan and see if they win.

You are correct, Narayanan. Team India should learn lesson from Mumbai team - if you play like a team and in a disciplined manner, you can win without having individual stars.

why not arrange a match against England or Australia agaist Ranji Winner Mumbai. If it fares better it will show that Players like Jaffer, Hiten,Nayer or even Rahane will be better batsmen than some the present batsmen in Indian 11. After all it is not important to recruit player from each state. The ultimate aim is winning. Like Australia wins as a team. Today we do not have any consistant
batsman like Alister cook.
are we playing for Win or for politics.

The examples of dominance are not upto the mark.

Man U has won on 12 occasions, but you have only taken a span of a few years. Why not take the whole span of english football and compare.
Man U has won the league a total of 19 times, whereas Liverpool has won 18 times. SO no clear domination of Man U.

Statistics is indeed a loyal pet of its owner. It can be moulded to interpret the way you like.

Accepted, but the point I made was that the example provided by the author is wrong.

Just a little contradiction with you though, they are heaviy dependent on Suarez, Lucas and Gerrard

I think the age of Jaffar should not make the difference, if he is going to replace Gambhir. Once Dhoni himself said that inclusion of Sehwag/Gambhir and Tendulkar in the team means at least 15 runs more to opponent. It means that Gambhir is poor in fielding. So age of Jaffar in fielding will not create issue.
