These first class matches are supposed to produce test & ODI players, but loking at the quality of batting & bowling; most Ranji matches look like a club match!!! No new hopeful indentified....what a waste of opportunities by young players.
Mumbai are champians becoz two of best players in all ranji matches not this season but for last three seasons R jadeja and C. pujara was not playing . I think mumbai won not becoz of their skills but by luck.

onion uthappa cannot even play ranji as seen in k'taka not even qualifying for last four.
Re: Re: Agarkar

he was never a test bowler, the only good instance he bowled well in tests was in Adelaide 2003. Rest is just mediocre.
Re: Re: Re: Agarkar
by Sachin Agarkar on Jan 28, 2013 06:17 PM
he used to be picked and dropped. if he was chosen consistently like in that aus series in 2003, he would have easily taken 200 wkts.
The Author Bikash Mohapatra has consistently downplayed Mumbai's performance and hardwork and writes the article in praise of Saurashtra batsmens failure. Read these statements "Having got themselves back into the match, albeit aided by some sloppy batting from the home team, the visitors let the opportunity slip again", what got themselves back? A lead of 150 runs in first innings on second day day of the match is not enough? And he later mentions that 200 runs lead was significant for this type of wicket. Do you write articles as if you were working for Saurashtra. Give due respect to Mumbai batsmen and bowlers instead of saying Saurashtra faltered.
