How do write an article
by Swapnil Potdar on Jan 28, 2013 06:03 PM

The Author Bikash Mohapatra has consistently downplayed Mumbai's performance and hardwork and writes the article in praise of Saurashtra batsmens failure.
Read these statements
"Having got themselves back into the match, albeit aided by some sloppy batting from the home team, the visitors let the opportunity slip again", what got themselves back? A lead of 150 runs in first innings on second day day of the match is not enough? And he later mentions that 200 runs lead was significant for this type of wicket. Do you write articles as if you were working for Saurashtra. Give due respect to Mumbai batsmen and bowlers instead of saying Saurashtra faltered.

by Venugopalan on Jan 28, 2013 05:45 PM

once again sir ajit agarkar proved his worth. whether you like it or not he is one finest captain material today. I dont think in any ranji trophy final one strong team (like sautashtra) tasting defeat in 3 days..ajit agarkar lead mumbai very well..today it is a historical day for him and mumbai..

yes.. you are right .. venu .. and that is why pujara is warming the bench .. if zaheer, rohit & rahane can be replaced they should have been plaing the final .. forget zaheer too .. and it was saurastra who asked for pujara and Mumbai did not request for any one .. Its a team game .. and MUMBAI is best .. needs no approval .. no other team has gone past 7 ranji trophies ... and mumbai has 40 .. get into double digit and start wirting

Agarkar is thousand times better than Dhoni
by Sachin Agarkar on Jan 28, 2013 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

As a complete cricketer, Agarkar is thousand times better than media boy Dhoni. Agarkar is only Indian fast bowler to have won a test match for India in Australia in last 30 years. Agarkar took 291 wickets in just 188 ODI matches and if Dhoni had not blocked his career, he would have become the highest wicket taker for India in ODIs. Agarkar when given a chance to lead Mumbai took them to finals of Ranji ODI tournament in 2012 and led them to a Ranji Trophy win in 2013 the first time he captained in 4-day format.

I am sure if Agarkar is made captain of Indian team, he can do a much much better job than the hyped up useless Dhoni who has his CSK_chamchas.

Dont agree but your view is your view

Agarkar Failed more than once when required to perform with bat as well as ball. He was not a great field er either
Physically not bulit to deliver ball as a fast bowler -- Agarkar is good at Ranji level and on dicy tracks - even in T20s he will get hammered -- he knows that himself

Agarkar not a great fielder - joke of the century. He was the best outfielder ever in Indian cricket and had the most powerful arm from the boundary.
Agarkar used to bowl at 140-145 even with his slight figure which says a lot about his ticker and internal strength. Andrew Liepus former Indian physio has said once that Agarkar used to lift the max. weights in the gym.
In T20s, he was the only guy who had a maiden over from Indian cricket for long.
He is the only Indian fast bowler to have won a Test match for India as a bowler in Australia for last 30 years.

mumbai won this match becoz there was no pujara and jadeja.
agarkar is a good bowler now and was good before but he was not consistent.
tendulkar backed him when he was captain and as a player, but once he was gone as captain, there was no one to take agarkar.

Tendulkar resigned as captain in 2001. Agarkar's best performance as a bowler 6 for 41 vs Australia at Adelaide came when Sachin was not the captain in 2003. From 2002-2007 Agarkar took over a hundred ODI wickets when Sachin was no longer the captain.

For every Pujara and Jadeja not there, there was no Rohit Sharma or Rahane both of whome are heavy scorers in domestics.

And even without Pujara and Jadeja, the same Saurashtra team defeated Punjab team by making over 600 runs in semi finals.

Accept it that Mumbai outplayed your gujju team entirely.
