read it properly mate ! what i mentioned is Sachin and Ganguly team wont feel good after reading this and NOT that Sachin (an average player) is responsible for this average team.
I donot agree captain does not have any role...he has the power to pick playing 11..when some seniors are not performing chance should be given some players who are very good at domestic level...

captain is the guy who chooses the people he wants. geoffy is telling that the players are average. which means dhoni is to be blamed.

Captain is the one who controls the game. He decides "to bat" or "to fiels" first. He decides field placements. He decides which bowler to use. He decides the order of batting, even changes it according to field realities during the game. A good captain with a mediocre team wins because of his insight and fore sight. Dhoni and his men have dropped a few crucial catches during current series with England. Yet, Dhoni has steered his team well to win the series. A bit of luck too.
Some times, umpiring has been mediocre. Why don't the Indians agree for the Review Sustem so that effects of errors in umpiring is minimised?
Exactly...the captain is only as good as the quality of the side. If this side is capable of beating only Bangladesh and Zimbabwe then that is what we can win about with the help of Dhoni and the things he can contribute with the real talented team. The team is in transition and it is going to take 2-3 years before we can have skills that can be called world class.
Today is the birthday od our beloved Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose greatest leader of the country. So sad we all have forgotten him. I know this is not the forum but couldn't stop to post here.
