Rohit & Gambhir should have been dropped. Chetaswar & Tiwari should be given chance, Even Murali sould be tried again. Aswin may be given rest & Ojha can be given chance.

Not sure about the writer but you have definately lost yours to see, hear, and think.
Please put an argument if you have one rather then your opinion. Opinions of tom di_ck and harry don't mattre for this country.

Dear RA, Ashwin is a bowler not a batsman. In last 5ODI series his bowling average is 40plus and SR is 50. So he is a complete failure as a bowler thats why he should be dropped as a BOWLER :)

Don't take a call on Ashwin by his batting where he hasn't done anything spectacular too seeing his innings against Pak. Ashwin's bowling has been pathetic and not saying this on one match performance. Right from champions trophy he is an underperformed. That he is in the team is just because he has a " godfather".
Sehwag HAD to be dropped. But Rohit Sharma was even more horrible. Ashwin will never be dropped as long as MSD/Cement sack are in the helm. It is very bad to see Ojha not being given opportunities.

As long as MSD/cement sach ????? .... Is it the only way to get a place in team .... Why current Indian Team dont want Sr players in their team.... Its really a shame the way VVS Laxman takes retirement ..
Re: Re: Disgusting

Frankly, laxman's retirement was needed. Did you see the last overseas tour of Eng & Aus? In the 8 tests, his avg was 21 or so. by his standards, it is hopeless. frankly, i believe that more than the issue of senior-junior, criteria should be between performer-non performer. just because age is on their side, people like rohit sharma cannot get opportunities indefinitely.
And see Ashwin's performance: 5 wickets in 5 ODIs in Srilanka, 5 wickets in 3 matches in Dhaka, 7 wickets in 7 matches in Australia.
It looks like some part time bowlers's performance.
Prepare 8 national team ,Dont fix any players continiously for several years, those who are playing good presently do select them against the other competitor nation .We are not failures except that bowlers are little bit less stronger,Our seniors have failed to select good bowlers out of one billion population in india.
there is no point in looking at the Ranji stars becoz all these were players were picked based on their ranji performance only. We cannot change the team every 2-3 years. All Indian players are same...they play very well initially and then goes down the same way as these 3 yesterday's superstars are doing.
I think there needs to be constant churn so people dont take their places for granted. Drop people who failed in two consecutive matches and replace with another aspirant. If the aspirant fails we can bring back the old guy. That way everyone will be forced to perform their best consistently.
Present team - all are performing below par due to excess cricket. Only Raina and Dhoni are managing to perform some extent. Dhoni captaincy has lost its charisma/luck. Our bowling in good conditions is okay but batsmen are failing irrespective of pitch condition. Need new blood considering WC-2015. Sehwag is always a threat for opponent. Rest required for Dhoni and Gambir and captaincy to be given to Sehwag with a new team for atleast 2-3 series
People are behind Gambhir ? He has got an average of almost40 in last one year. What about useless players like Rohitand SirJadeja ? Also Ashwin n raina too are poor. Pujara,Yusuf and Harbhajan(better than Ashwin) should have included in place of Rohit,Jadeja and Ashwin :)

In that case the best spinner of India is the worst in the world - given his performance on Indian pitches
Re: Re: Re: Why
by Maverick on Jan 08, 2013 10:22 AM
Harbhajan was shown the door for his poor performance in westindies and England (which are never known for spinners). By that yard stick, Ashwin (who got the oppurtunity on Indian soil - an advantage) and didn't perform should also go.
We should make way for other players. India shouldn't be dependent on or should make just one super star

I am not. You check stats and then talk.
How can you be happy with his performance. Didn't you see the onedayers against pakistan. He looked lost and so sub standard compared to pakistani part timers

Bhavesh, Ashwin's performance: 5 wickets in 5 ODIs in Srilanka, 5 wickets in 3 matches in Dhaka, 7 wickets in 7 matches in Australia. Latest is 3 wickets in 3 ODIs against Pak.
It looks like some part time bowlers's performance. If you call this guy as best spinner, then you should be playing for Netherlands Team.....

Agree with M Dhoni :) Specially Rohit Sharma has an extended stay in the ODI team. Wonder what he possesses to please Dhoni & the selectors. His talent is like a boy's presence in a lesbianstrip club!
Immediately drop these useless guys. And watch for kohli in the next matches. Drop him too if he is not performing. A player shouldn't get a chance for fielding alone.

by Vasundara Ramanujam on Jan 08, 2013 10:02 AM
we shd try youngsters .shd not have tried kohli due to his slip in the last match. drop she wag &gam beer for couple of matches.
