Because he is a Bengali and Indian Cricket establishment is always anti-Bengali.
Look at how Pankaj Roy was treated as garbage by Poly Umrigar when P.Roy was making record, Umrigar asked him to retire.
The same is true about others players from Bengal like Amber Roy or Ganguly, who got a chance only because of Dalmia. Otherwise he could never be able to be included in the Indian team.

It is not true that Ganguly got the chance in India Team for Dalmia.He is a born Captain like Pataudi. Ask Durani about Pataudi during 1961 West Indies Tour expeience.
Dada is the ideal person to train the team. He will make the team stick to the game and not shopping (which seems to be the trend with Dhoni & team). We dont need a batting coach to train these flat track bullies. We need a strict disciplinarian. Ganguly deserves full support to bring back the team into order.
Ganguly lacked basic skills to be a test cricketer.. he was another flat track bully, suspect against fast and swing bowling..He was tactically naive.. he was a terrible sportsman..He was just plain lucky..His captaincy coincided with the peaks of tow of India's greatest batsmen post gavaskar.. RD & VVS.. so india managed a few wins abroad.. we uncecessarily give too much credit to this average cricketer and made him a hero, as if he was the one who taught us to fight.He himself was unaware how to fight.. so how will he teach others?

After being let go from KKR and Pune ganguly's uselessness has been proved....Nice lobbying campaign ganguly is running - but he should be in politics since he is good at that only.

Gang is not a technical player and not good for test matches! Currently india needs a technically strong batsmen as coach for improving our test record! Definitely a big NO for Ganguly
