Re: SRT not Dhoni

My Dear The Author is discussing for test match not for one day he is right it is Dhoni and Viru who made double century in single day of test match.
After having dismal show for two years if we win one test why should we enjoy? Such flukes do happen. Let the series get completed then we will review.
Not sure how Virat Kohli laid the foundation as the author claims. It was Sachin who laid the foundation along with Cheteshwar Pujara and then continued with Virat Kohli. In order of contribution, the trio who swung it were Ashwin (7wkts in the first innings to reduce Aussies to 380), Sachin who came in at the early fall of openers and built 2 partnerships - first with Pujara and then with Kohli and the Dhoni who built on a solid platform. And let us not forget Bhuvanshwar Kumar who stood rock solid with Dhoni to take the lead to 190 runs.

It is a team victory. Except for the openers I think the whole team played well.

what has ad got to do with playing cricket.Everybody in the team is an ad guy.
MSD and Ashwin defintely come as no 1 and 2, but SRT comes ahead of Kohli. India were 2 down when SRT came, and he played some attacking game and took pressure away from young pujara. This was th partnership that got india back in match. SRT then made sure he and kohli stays till end to atleast make sure india doesn't loses the match.

I think you are absolutely on the mark Faisal. It is difficult to come at the fall of a wicket and hold the innings together, when you are aware that another wicket, and Team India would be in shambles. Full marks to SRT and the Kohli for taking the pressure off the Captain, who could then destroy the Aussie bowling, without fear of losing the game.

@ Faisal: Thanks for the most accurate comment so far! MSD and Ashwin were the special ones, SRT was good, but that is expected just like Clarke did for Aus. Kohli was almost like Moises, but I am not sure if Pujara's 40 has to be glorified beyond extent. If not for the differentiating performances of Dhoni and Ashwin, Aussies might have won the test.
