Murali has done nothing to justify his recall. Drop him. Jafer was dropped abruptly in favor of Gambhir after a disastrous Australian tour. But he has good temprament and the flat indian wickets may help his cause. Even if he gets 25 runs, he is better than both those dudes combined. Bring him back.
Shikar diwan has done nothing to vault into national selection. But he should now move over Sehwag. I would even give Manish Pandey a shot.
Heck even Rohit Sharma would look more consistent than Sehwag nowadays. Atleast nobody would expect anything from him, the way one does for Sehwag. And since Sehwag cannot bowl now, he is half useful.

25 runs has the same worth if it is scored by Sachin or Bhuvaneshwar Kumar or Murali or Gambhir. Players should be retained based on performance only and should be in a positive direction. Selecting old guys like Badrinath or Jaffar is a move in the wrong direction.

perfoemance & old guys. Sachin fits into the criteria. Dhobi , a washerman can not understand cricket. he can only wash undies of sachin.
everyone forgot eng series so early? when v won the first test (by 9 wickets) of 'REVENGE' series only to boomrang on us in the next two? (England won by 10 wickets and 7 wickets respectively)! so dont get fooled by dhoni boasting. yes, he played good innings of his life above his calibre as test player.

Does that mean Sreesanth is far superior to all the above mentioned bowlers COMBINED

hilarious!!!!! there can not be better joke than this! how can you compare a team member with the captain! Agreed, Dhoni has lots of luck. But that doesn't mean you can compare in this way!

all those players you mentioned won many games to their nation with their own effort. but ganguly always relies on sachin dravid and laxman to score runs. he himself is a big looser

MS Dhoni is once in a lifetime cricketer..stop doubting his credentials..wicket keeping, captaining, batting, and he never crumbles under pressure..what else do u want?
