Atleast in Ganguly's era india started reaching finals.... if sachin would have continued as captain some of them would have committed suicide..!! ganguly made some changes,,, indian board has done one thing right.. they hide their players from abroad tours... as the true picture of team india and captain cool will come out...

Inspite of having batsmen like VVS, Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag and bowlers like Srinath, Nehra, Prasad, Kumble - he could only muster 21 wins!!! whereas under Dhoni we had only Kumble for a while, VVS and Dravid for couple of years, Sachin failing to blast, pace bowler we are still searching, spinners are pathetic with once in a blue-moon performance from Ashwin and Ohja....no wonder Dhoni is considered as captain cool and best captain only next to Stephen Fleming among his contempraries!!!

Above table is a datavore's dream..data that is amazingly insightful..Steve Waugh was great, but that figure of 71% proves why...and Dravid was a better Test captain than Azhar

this is not how i would calculate win percentage....there's a flaw with this method i.e. it doesn't consider draws

they are just raw win figures. the win % doesn't take into account how much one sucked..

Important statistic
by Soumya Kundu on Feb 26, 2013 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

In the last 15 test matches under dhoni, India has won 4 (all at home), lost 10 (2 home and 8 away) and drawn 1 (home). Dhoni had much better statistics to show before england tour of 2011.

Indian team is in transition phase. Have patience. He is able to make it again number 1 like he did in ODI format.

Depends on who the batsman is. If it is Rajinikanth, it is a 4 or 6.

IF HE HITS THE WICKET DURING THE COMPLETION OF HIS SHOT THEN THERE IS NO DOUBT HE IS 'OUT' HITWICKET.

Re: Question
by taklu on Feb 26, 2013 02:38 PM
yes, while making the shot if he hits the stumps he's out hitwicket no matter how many runs it goes for. however he is not out if he knocks over the bails after completing the stroke..i.e. he attempts to swing his bat or attempt a mock shot after he's hit the boundary. in that case if it hits the stumps its not out.
