mostopaque , he already is a world class outstanding cricketer. double ton has only silenced his critics.
i liked the comment about msd double ton being on a flat subcontinent track. but tingas first score of more than 10 in two years was on fast & bouncy or a rank turner track.

The reason he couldn't score century outside subcontinent is his batting position. Our tail get exposed in abroad so he doesn't get enough support at one end. He has scored many half centuries outside subcontinent.

Overseas, in 99% occasions he does not last till the tail comes to bat. This is a reality.

What a great knock by Dhoni! Even after scoring double hundred he was very calm and down to earth. Everyone on the stadium was on his feet to congratulate him including great master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Opposition players also congratulated him. No doubt he is 2nd best after Gilly but I can feel proud India have such a great wicketkeeper batsman and captain. Keep it up.

have not observed technique, talent, etc since i was not interested. but when it comes to rescue acts, his nearest match in India is Dravid. nobody else, not even sachin or laxman.

why don't you say Gilchrist faced only poor bowling in his career. He did not face Australian greats like McGrath, Bret Lee, Shane Warne etc. He also did not play much against Steyn, Morkel, Philander. Dhoni besides keeping also led India to No. 1 position in tests and ODI and win two world cups.
