Shastri is Sachin's Cricket Manager, it is his job to arrange and say good things about Sachin.Maybe some arrangement has been arrived @ therefore saying he will score big runs.

again the pressure of scoring 40 runs when the team needs is different from scoring a 100 and getting out when the pressure is no where in sight is not a great sign indeed.
Shatri ji your blessing your own team mate.Everyone one knows how bias you are at the commentary box. It seems you are more interested in scoring him runs than himself. Otherwise you have to see his wicket cart-wheeling.You Blasted Lucky and Dravid for not knowing their offstemp. Your team mate cannot see the ball or does not know all three stemps.

Agree. Different yardsticks are used to measure performances of non-performers. The same logic is applicable to Rohit Sharma also.
after all hes done well for so long. if he scores a few 50s it will be good enough. of course if he scores big, it will be great !
just hoping the other guys will score big, too, and help to defeat oz
the A team had gr8 game against oz..and have faced all the bowlers so well. mitchell starc and siddle and M henriques are backbone of team and A team has scored well.so expect high scoring in test

agreed, no one cares about the team, this is the indian way. There is so much talent that is not been slected, as long as we have people who care about vested interests and not the team, the indian cricket team is on the downhill.

hey... btw the article states that when asked shastri said so. Rediff chooses to publish this because people like reading about sachin. I have personally found shastri to be more direct than most commentators. Your comment seems to be sweepingly one-sided

Good question Vinay. Who supports him was evident during the Ranji / Irani matches when the stadia was full when he was batting, and people went back after he was not batting.
SRT you was & still remain the greatest Cricketer India has ever produced. Critics specially in India will be around you to retire from Cricket. Nothing unusual as we never gave due credit to our heroes, on the contrary we take pride in criticizing our heroes, may be due to 200 years of slavery. Other country people feel pride in speaking in their national language, but we take pride in speaking in English rather than Hindi(our national language)..slavery does have this effect. Its now incorporated in our genes. Come on India. Respect your Heroes. Most important.. Respect yourself & your country & their people.

India has 16 languages why Hindi is to be spoken as national language. try to speak in Tamil Nadu / Kerala/ andhra you will knoe which is national language. Do not force public by saying Hindi as national language. People love to speak in their mother tongue is their national language.

no one feels pride when communicating in English...
We focus on English, only bcoz its the language of opportunity, and business...
It will be tough to get jobs, if one just focuses on the myriad local languages that India has to offer. None of the local languages can guarantee any jobs or a decent lifestyle....
pride and patriotism is one thing, but nowadays its the question of survival.. One can't survive in these highly competitive tough times, if we just stick to our local languages owing to a false sense of pride and patriotism...
BTW practice what u preach... ensure that tomorrow u do not send ur wards to english medium schools or provide them any higher level education as most of them happen to be english language oriented...
Also say NO to ur employer if at all u get an opportunity to go to any foreign countries and do not send anyone from ur family either to foreign shores for a greener pasture...
buddy, its very easy to pass comments sitting in an AC room. when it comes to survival, pride or patriotism is the last thing in everyones mind. ppl flock where there is opportunity and scope for a better standard of living. The not so fortunate ones, have no option but to continue living the way they r used to...

true mahendra, but i think there r still many ppl who considers eng as the only language of status. learning eng is different thing but to communicate with our own ind local brothers in eng is different thing which shud b avoided.
