Why? Any Indian in right frame of mind understands what Lawson has to say.

All he is saying is that Sachin is well past his prime and what;s wrong with that? Sachin is almost 40 yrs old. He is a legend and you can't expect him to play like the way he did when he was 30 yrs old..

Australians are so good in Cricket because they don't get drained in emotions. What Lawson is saying is typical of Australians.

They are realistic and practical unlike us. If Sachin was playing for Aussies, he would have been forced to retire by now.....

Raman,
Suppose Sachin was an Aussie do you think Lawson would have had the same opinion? I seriously doubt.

Don't be awestruck by the Aussies. They are sore loosers any day. They are still the hated team in the global cricket, wonder why?

I love to watch SA(the best team) thrash Aussie any day.

ho hold on, I am not awestruck by the Aussies and I hate that team passionately. "Awestruck" is what you're about SA team..

And you very much said it well "Suppose Sachin was an Aussie do you think Lawson would have had the same opinion? I seriously doubt". And that's because Sachin wouldn't have been in the Aussie team at this point in his career. Just look at the way Aussie operates. The player I hate the most-Ricky Ponting- a patentic creature but a great batsman, guess what as soon as his performance started deteriorating, they pushed him out politely.

Look at England under Andy Flower, they are very much in to the "consistent performance matters' mindset. The days are gone when players like Alex Stewart keep holding on his place till he could barely walk on the field. And the results are for all to see now. That mediocre England of 90s is one of the top two teams in the world now..

No doubt about what Sachin has accomplished but he is as human as you and me and he gets old too. At 40, he is not the same players that he was and somebody needs to make him realize that, since he is not ready to accept it himself..

now,it is not matter of scoring tons..he just needs to hang in there and score a scratchy 30-50 even.
if india gets to 100-1 , job is done.
His main job is to give confidence to team. that aura still there.
He is in good form, i wouldnt be surprised if hes highest rungetter in this series.

Personally I would put him in ODIs too. against ozzies esp. they hate him
( in oz last time, other players did very badly too cept virat)

Yes,he should continue to give confidence till he is 58years age.By that time the current younger generation will also become matured at 40-45 years age and will have sufficient confidence..

Cricket should be played by only "LEGENDS". Young people should concentrate on their studies.

Sachin is a greedy and selfish person and will never retire on his own. He needs to be shown the door.
