These are all politics of cricket, these guys play b4 start of any tournament. Just forgive Lawson to his condition. Lawson is not even on the field now.

There is nothing political about this. Everyone especially a test player in the past (Let it be from any country) has right to say what he thinks. And you have right to say that Sachin can play till he reaches 50s. Another record to break.
What qualification do you want? Can't we see the recent records and make a judgement? Its a fact that Sachin Has past his prime!!!!! He is just playing on the basis of his past performance. Let's see when he hangs up his boots and has the courage to say I AM RETIRING. May be at the end of this test series whatever his performance may be. Let's wait and watch. All the best to the youngster's waiting for this gentleman to retire
Tendulkar could have very well opted to continue playing onedayers rather than opting to continue more taxing test cricket. Ageing is a natural phenomenon and none can challenge nature as reflexes go down with age. Whatever it is, we love u Tendlya!
People talk this way because they have not seen cricketers playing Tests in 40s, as the passion for the game stops for most of them in a decade or so at the highest level. Tendulkar plays with the passion of a teenager even after achieving almost all possible records and plays domestic cricket to get back into form. It takes great passion to play this long in any sport and to have the same focus. Sachin failed in 2012. It had happened in 2002 and we saw him play at his best again from 2003. I am sure he will play again from 2013 onwards. By sticking to domestic cricket and Tests, he will easily play a few more years of even better Test cricket. If one can get over the slump in form due to physical adjustments which happens in late 30s, he could play well till mid-40s if he wants.
