MI MUST SORT OUT BATTING ORCER 2 OPTIMISE RESOURCES
by damodaran mohan on Apr 06, 2013 02:27 PM

Normally in T20 matches there should be room for flexibility in batting order depending upon situation . However still any team must have a normal logically correct batting order with a mix of solidity and stroke makers at the top.One of the problems of MI have been their opening pair. They seem to be confused and keep changing with Sachin-Ponting being the latest.Instead they can try Sachin-Rohit sharma/D/Smith with Ponting at no.3 and Pollard at no 4.depending upon the op-ening either D/Smith or Rohit can come at no.5 and a/rayudu at no6.Main problem is their resources are getting underutilised most of the time.

The legends gave a decent start. However a few changes like getting Raidu and pollard higher up the order (above rohit and karthik) would do them good

You should be thanking Munaf, Rohit and Rayudu instead. They actually won a match for RCB.

Pointing and Sachin gave a decent start at 7 rpo, which was good enough to chase 156 with plenty of batting to come. It is the middle order which f**ked it up. Thanks to Kartik's late outburst, they came close to the target. Had the penultimate ball gone an extra 2 inches, the match might have seen super over and it might have boiled down to Gayle vs Pollard show then.

if last over will be bowled by johnson(3 over/15 runs/1 wickit)but given to Munaf is big mistake by pointing as last over of 16 runs is difference between two teams. mistake by pointing.

Big mistake
by Animesh Das on Apr 05, 2013 01:26 PM

Mumbai erred by playing Ponting and Tendulkar together. One of them must be dropped if they want to progress in this tournament. This is harsh but TRUTH.

this must be about MI captain. hehehe...

Actually, MI has got captain with matching attitude now.

In Ranji circuit Mumbai is known as khadus team. Ponting can surely do this job of being khadus better than other in MI team. ;)

Guys, what is your take on Virat Kohli given out LBW?

From replays, it appeared to me that the ball was hitting Virat well outside the line of the off stump.

all dirty tricks by MI ,when he was in full flow hitting that bowler with worst action they stopped the match to distract all cheap tricks. And the ball impact was outside off stump, sad to see all cheap commentators in this IPL who have no guts to speak out.Except simoun doull.

Why Mumbai Indians have - Kiron Polard
by subhankar rout on Apr 05, 2013 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

Unable to understand for what purpose Mumbai Indian's have Kiron Polard with them. Is it just to scare the opisition by asking him to sit in the front row of the waiting bench.

this match was totally fixed.i din't see any seriousness among cricketers and umpiring is third rate with no clarity in replays and decisions.why a 20-20 need strategic timeout in 8thover and 13nth over when international t20 dont have this format, its just to discuss how to fix match.ipl is killing cricket and its true followers.

The decission to send Pollard down the order cost the match. He should be at One down, So that he gets the maximum number of overs to play. Also Sachin or Ponting, one of them need to fire to maintain the run rate.

You mean young guns like rohit and rayadu who ensured run rate never picks up and nailed the coffin for MI.
When SRT and Punter were batting they put on 50 in 7 overs which is great, that meant only 107 was to be made in 13 overs with RR of 8.23 which is nothing.
They should have sent pollard ahead of rayadu, but then, rayadu is to blame, he should have thrown his wicket if he was not able to score. He looked like interested in taking singles only
