He needs to be there till the next 3 overseas tours to help the youngsters acclimatize abroad. Then his job will be done for India.

have you played cricket? one needs to be an active player to guide the team on the field.
Tendlya shd either play like he played in his 20's i.e fearless aggresive attacking cricket or shd retire immediately. Yday coz of him n ponting MI has lost a match which can easily be won by youngsters in side.

He hit 2 great fours against Murali. Ponting was slow to react in asking him to return. Though agree that the runout was needless as he was playing well and needn't have gone for that run.
It is good to find Sachin finally saying this which was an act of sacrilege committed by media on his behalf. He has shown all the failings of a mortal & good that he has admitted it as well at the fag end of his career.This will make him feel better & also allow needless targeting by foes.
