Dhoni's statement suggest the lack of confidence and preparedness for world T20.
However, In India we always take populist decision and opinion and hence removing Dhoni from T20 leadership idea would have never cross the minds of selectors or many of us, but that is inevitable (post T20 world cup).
Dhoni lacks the flexibiltiy to adapt to changes in T20 understanding what it was in world cricket 5 years back & now, and this is the palce where he failed miserably as a leader in T20 in last couple of years.
A Virat could have been promosted nearly 6 months back in T20. But in India, we hardly take bold decisions in any walk of life due to lack of conviction in what we do.
Cheers in case we do not make an anticipated early exit form T20 world cup.

People are talking about Replacement for Dhoni in T20 and are talking more about Robin Uthappa after 2007 Worldcup where India had a team that was excellent Batting, Bowling and Fielding.Remember D.Kaarthick catch @ Slip against S.A [the catch of the tournament], Yuvraj 6 6's in 1 Over. Problem is India need to find team that suits one format of the game and clearly concentrate on that format alone. For Example Guys Like A.Rayudu suits T20 better than in a Test Match.If you have seperate teams for T20,50 ODI and Tests, People will get required rest as well.Dont bring Players above 33 yrs to T20[ reason is poor Fieding] and bring more Attacking players.For Eg.Robin Bist suits Tests more than ODI's or T20's. Select and train a team for T20 with Reserve players.A team with SKILL and Proper training can emulate Australia [in late 1990's - early 2000's] to stamp Authority.

I would like to add 1 more to my comment. In 2007, the team was brand new and no senior player went for the tournament. This happend within weeks India lost in 1st Round of ODI WC, So no pressure, new team, nobody [includes other countries like England or Australia] knows each players weakness or how he plays.So that was an advantage. Added to that was No pressure against India,Many told, When many senior Guys cant perform in WC ODI and India with least Experience in T20's , Who thought India was a firm Favourite. Now IPL helps each player's Weakness and his strength that helps most teams prepare a plan against each player.technology is not everything but playing against a team whose weakness is known can have a bigger edge against a very lesser known team whose weakness is not known with pressure.
he says to do well so he is giving signal that we will not win world cup but we will be 2nd or 3rd position. so all indians don't waste your time on cricket.
Dhoniji, what we saw against NZ t-20, you gifted match to NZ...where is ur firepower gone after 2007-08? Indiaa is toal incompetent in all T-20 INTERNATIONAL matches after 2008 ..forget winning....Lot of news hype abt younger players, so whats wrong now ? Any new reason or here too media ppl will blame Rahul,Sachin,Laxman :)..common dhoni, play ur natural game, forget all ad's, shooting, media..ipl.

he is good enough to do.you just concentrate on other rediff comments. he brought 2 world cups to us that is not done by any other indian captain.so please ........
