Tendulkar should retire
by Akshay Parmar on Sep 04, 2012 06:08 PM

With all due respect,He should be selected only if agrees to play in all test matches and one day tournaments. It appears he is terribly short on match practise. He should be played in the test matches against visiting English and Australian sides. He is providing excellent on field coaching to Pujara,Kohli and Rahane.

The last time he was dismissed bowled 3 times in a row was in 2002, so by that yard stick he should have been on the decline since then. In 2002 he reached 8000 runs and has since scored 7000 ... he had the highest average of 673 in the 2003 WC in South Africa by any player in the history of World cups. Need I say more. So just leave him alone. With no disrepect, upstarts like Kohli, we'll see where he is 5 years from now.

Do you have even remote of brain? Why you comparing last time to now? Last time Tendu was 29 in 2002. He is 40 and age is not by his side. Look at his waste and fitness. Since then he regularly carried injury. Understand Tendu never played for nation interest he was obsessed with his records and himself and his money. Do you remember when Tendu was made to go down at 4 in one day he said he is not enjoying and wants to open the innings. He never batted like dravid at all position. Even in test he never went down first down when team needed him. He was only himself. Tendhaa has been very very selfish if one analyse carefully. He missed Ranji trophy and played IPL with injury. He pick and choose tours. He never donated a single penny from his pocket whereas imran khan spent all his savings and opened cancer hospital and provide free to minor fees to poor. this is greatness. Steve waugh even being aussie donates in india, mcgrath foundation.. these are real greats tendu is not that quality

No doubt, sachin was a great player. Almost all Indian’s respect him. But Sachin has to think himself about his true potential about his past and present. Cricket is a gentle man game. We all know from his ground behavior, sachin is a true gentle man. But country like India, there is number of young players waiting for a break through. Hope sachin can inspire many young sports person by taking a good and timely decision.

We all Indian’s proud of you for your past records.

thts not the problem..the team selection is distributed because he rests anytimes as per his wish..then how can a consistent team be formed..his position is very crucial..

I think that happens all the time. The management rested Yadav in the one days to preserve him for the tests and I also think Sachin deserves the right to pick and choose his games and retire when he feels the time is right. Tamil troublers or whatever that assinine name he goes by is a nincompoop. We are talking cricket not anyone's philanthropic inclinations.

either he shld play all the matches like tests, odis or he shld retire from cricket...playing cricket taking frequent long breaks is going to hamper the team's selection as well as his performance

INDIA WIN THE SERIES 2-0 INSPITE OF SACHIN TENDULKAR
by damodaran mohan on Sep 04, 2012 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar is on decline is an understatement. In fact he is a 'spent force' for quite some time now and is becoming a liability for the side. He says he would keep playing as long as he is enjoying the game. Does he look to be enjoying the game when he is at crease by any stretch of imagination ? What nonsense . He is just blocking place of a youngster and not allowing the selectors the freedom to rebuild the TEST side or the ONE day side .Look every time how he struggles at the crease to get set in the initial 10-15 overs and before he gets set he gets out. His team certainly is not enjoying. He has already contributed to two series wash outs and this NZ series also was won inspite of him and not because of him. In how many more series washouts he wants to contribute ? How long youngsters will have to cover for him ? What would have happened to this series if youngsters had also failed ? The way Rajiv Shukla is defending Sachin it looks as though he is defending a congressman like Chidambaram or MMS !

We are forgetting that we are missing an young upcoming player on the side or unduly delaying his entry.

Now Virat and Pujara have already replaced Sachin and Dravid. We need fresh blood. We don't need records for an old horse.

Australia- he was second highest run getter after kohli. infact till the third test he was better than kohli. In england he was second best after rahul (avg 48). though definitely he failed this time. If he does not perform well in the next series he will be dropped. But this is the only series where he failed in a looong time.

Ever great thing comes to an end.He should not let his ans feel dejected by getting himself in this kind of situation. It is hard to imagine Sachin getting bowled in same fashion against unherad of bowlers like Hilfenhaus,Boult,Bracewell & Southy?
