Even though I am an India, my perception is that both Jayawardene and Sangakkara can be easily rated as the best and class batsmen in the history of cricket with the added burden of captaining the side and performing almost consistently. I would rate them better than tendulkar eventhough they have not got the records of tendulkar. And also rate Jaque Kallis the best and most valuable cricketer in the cricket history rated above Don Bradman or Tendulkar. Though Indian team can beat anyone anyday, India can never be consistent with couple of genuine all rounders or consistent pace bowlers. Even we have below par spinners when compared to most countries. I wish if we taxed or taken aside 30-40% of ticket money to invest in other sports in India and win laurels in other area of sports. Can the BCCI or Indian politicians wake upon this instead of worhshipping cricketers and cash cow on advertisements and not allowing to develop other games?.India can be a developed country with less importance to cricket, as whenever cricket happens whole nation productivity is at a toss.

no need to bring Indian angle in this and comparison with Sachin. Even Sachin has carried the burden of expectations from all Indian fans. as far as sri lankan performance is concerned they have consistently struggled outside continent and are not able to win any major title or test series in many years. whereas India has tasted success in all forms of the game, be it one day world cup 2011, T20 world cup, 2007 and also test no. 1 ranking for brief period. apart from 8 losses in tests last year India has has a reasonably good performance over the years.
