Will our curators heed Dhoni's call for turning wickets?

Why should they?
by Arun Kumar on Nov 23, 2012 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

Curators have no compulsions to listen to what Dhoni has to say. They are accountable to BCCI. What BCCI says or doesn't say to the curators is a different matter altogether. Preparing rank turners will only be detrimental to the Indian team's cause. We will go back to the dark 90's when Azhar was captain. We used to win everything at home and lose every match abroad. We did not have any batsmen barring Tendulkar who could cope with the moving ball back then...I am afraid we will witness another horror period like that if Dhoni has his way.....

we have won a lot under dhoni at home and abroad...and it was not tendulkar who could cope with the moving ball back then...even then he was as vulnerable as now and as bad in pressure conditions scoring well only when conditions were favourable...also the black spot in dhoni's captaincy is only really the two whitewashes and the main culprits were of course sachin, dravid and laxman themselves who still many people are not able to criticise (for those whitewashes)...

these players were sent ahead of other indian players supposedly to get acclimatised to conditions there...but they could not and were totally flop...but still when the blame game comes dhoni is the most convenient culprit and these 3 players usually the last or for some not at all...

It only shows that Dhoni is scared of seaming tracks and England's fast bowlers

it only shows that dhoni wants wickets producing results...and not favouring only batsmen...strange that for some people if india prepares wickets suiting their strength it is bad and cheating and when other countries do the same that is correct...really confused people if others do it then it is good if we do it then it is bad...if we fail in other countries it is because we are not strong...and if others fail here then again it is we who are not good...wow!!

for us to be recognised as no. 1 we always have to win abroad and for others to be recognized as no. 1 they need to win only at home and not in india or sub continent!

Dhoni and turning wickets

Why does Dhoni want wickets that turn from day 1. Can we not play on sporting wickets that help both seamers and spinners? As a captain of the Indian team Dhoni should have the confidence to play on all wickets!

After watching SA Bowlers getting hit by Aussie batsmen, I think Dhoni might better get rank turners soon...or else...Michael Clark, Warner, Hussey and Watson will feed on Indian Bowlers...

When we visited England, they (tailor) made wickets which were so green that sometimes it was difficult to distinguish them from the rest of the field.

cricketer should play on any given pitch.

they are professional why don't they get adjust to all kind of pitch.

one day dhoni will demand opponent leg should be broken so they can win.

india will never be consistent world champion if they don't adjust to bouncy pitch.

very true so the visiting teams should not complain about pitches here...they are professionals and must adjust to all kind of pitches...after all indian players are also going to play on the same pitch...right?

these other teams cannot be called no. 1 teams or world champions if they dont adjust to flat indian pitches or rank turners or whatever wickets are provided to them...

just winning at home on doctored fast pitches dont make these teams good teams...

Pitches should be made only for domestic cricket. For visiting teams like ENG,Aussies,SA & WI wickets should be rank turners. Test them on rank turners as they would test us on green tops We should also not forget to make disparaging remarks about their competence after each loss in India.
