While we have to agree captaincy is overrated.. in most cases when u have agreat team the captians work becomes minimal.. we tend to give unde credit to Ganguly.. he was a poor test bastman and his captiacy coincided with the peak careers of Dravid and Laxman.. so india were able to win abroad, when the previous indian teams did not have the batsmane to cope with alein conditions.. Dhoni doesnt have that luxury

Sure thing....not comparing the two captains at all, just stating facts. Similarly, when Sachin went past Sunil Gavaskar, were we comparing the two greats?
Ojha's performance has been outstanding keeping in view the overall performance of our Bowlers. It was Ojha who removed the most dangerous English pair, Cook and Prior in the morning session of the Final day. I think the "Man of the Match" should have been jointly awarded to Pujara and Ojha.

He is an Odiya...and he is the late entrant to be part of the regional chauvinism that has engulfed many parts of this country.
He became Captain of India when all the other Leading Teams had their stalwarts retiring and the teams were in the process of developing new players (with fledgling youngsters) for their groups.
Ganguly, on the other hand, was involved in developing a well knit Indian team which was inherited by Dhoni without any difficulty.
Dhoni also enjoyed the luxury of least expectations which made him appear COOL, a boon during his early years of stewardship.
Saurav knitted a team low on moral after the failure of Sachin as Captain & also won many outside India.he was a very attacking captain. Compared to that Dhoni has nothing to show beyond our boundaries in test cricket. He almost allowed England to draw in first test due to his over defensive tactics & poor bowling changes
Yes Dhoni job as captain is commendable when team went through crisis of 2007 WC exit, chappel issue etc. Initially he was daring captain and batsman , later changed with mixed attitude that gives 50-50 results. Neverthless, his batting skills at chasing, are note-worthy. Wishing him to see anotehr WC lifted trophy in Aus in 2015, he needs to plan with management for the same.

dont compare dhoni with Great legend DADA.. Look the stats out of 21 many in overseas.. but for dhoni most record from india. he build the team strongly like viru, yuvi, bhaji, gauti, zaheer..This generation playing lot of cricket like IPL, Champions league, etc.. but those daysno such analysis.. for me always dada is best.. he build the sprit of the team, found right combination 7 plus 4 ,Dhoni is a player, Ganguly is legend..

Hi Keerthana,
Where did you find comparison to Ganguly? You Know I am big supporter of Prince of Calcutta? This post only applauded Dhoni success as captain but no comparison to Dada. Between did you find anything wrong with what I said about Dhoni?
