Ganguly is the most selfish cricketer of the era. Now he is trying to create some conflict between Gambir and Dhoni, because he doesn't want Dhoni to overtake his record of most Successful captain for INDIA. He is playing politics as ever.

Dont know about Ganugly's thinking but as he said Dhoni is not a complete player for test cricket

No.1 - Saurav is not trying to create a rift between MSD and Gauti. It started way back during the Aus tour itself when MSD started the rotation policy for openers to keep Rohit Sharma in the ODI squad.
No.2 - The Aus tour had clearly shown as that MSD is not an attacking captain in the Test format, possibly because of limited bowling respurces at his disposal. With very aggressive attitude towards playing Gauti is better. That is what Saurav is pointing. But he also admits that Gauti may not be ready totally, so he will have to wait.
A captain is as good as the team he leads. With inexperienced bowling attack and declining forms of batsmen such as SRT,Viru MSD could hardly achieve anything consistently. Rather than blaming the captain, we need to look at plugging those holes in the Bowling and batting departments first
What Saurav Ganguli is saying is based on the single outcome of the shortest version of cricket that too is not an international event its an Indian Premier League..which has its own rules, laws and bylaws. It seems that he is in too hurry to find an alternative to Dhoni..let Gambhir or any x,y,z aspirant for captainship be tested in the international event be it Test, ODI or T20 shouldering the responsibility as an acting captain that too without affecting his personal performance then only such suggestions should be made, otherwise fine players like Gambhir or Kohli will be lost in oblivion because of such hurry. Again he makes contradiction of himself only by judjing the captainship of Gambhir based on a T20 league as fit for test matches. While everone admits that Dhoni has no parallel in short/shortest version of cricket as far as captainship is concerned.
As per ECONOMIC TIMES TODAY performance score by veteran indian players: Dravid-481, Bhajji-352, Yusuf and Ganguly-310, Sachin-309. All of them are failure. They should go. Why no body talk about Sachin? They were good players once upon a time. We should not be biased for national interest. They should give way to next gen.
Hi All, Please remember that during Ganguly's period India had entered in all the tournament finals (18 tournament finals) for two consecutive years which included two ICC champions (one in SA) trophy, One ICC World cup. This feat was never achieved even by the then mighty Australians. This record is still holds good.

Ganguly has attitude problem.If he has good attitude and positive thoughts India would won the world cup during his captaincy.When Dhoni has become a India Captain.India was in the 1st position in Test cricket and he built the very good ODI team.Dont forget about his contributions.Sachin and Ganguly just they are good players but not good team or good captain.Only Dhoni is successful captain.

Hi, Mr. Shanmugasundaram, Please remember that India went to No.1 test position because of the team built by Ganguly. Now once that team is slowly dissolved India has coming down the rating. The question here is what contribution Dhoni has done to develop or built a team? He is still trying to project few players as future legends (who have already playing for India for the last five years), but struggling to play on foreign soil. Remember during pre Ganguly era, Indian batting was centered around Sachin and bowling was with Kumble. But once Ganguly took over as captain, he made that everyone has play to their full potential. The result was India started winning in foreign countries (at that time almost all test playing nations were strong teams). Now look at India's pathetic record in foreign soil (now almost all the teams are not much strong enough). So please keep these parameters, factors in mind. Now even at this situation, Dhoni is not able to win matches.
Even Ganguly being as a captain could not enter into final of IPL. Chennai Super Kings at one stage was in a grim situation, that everyone was thinking it will not even qualify for semi final. But Dhoni rised from the bottom to the top and proved his credential. Therefore, Ganguly must stop commenting on captaincy matter. He must concentrate on his own positive work

Mr. Asim Mehtani, I think CSk qualified in this final is nothing but a fluke. They did not come to finals with thier track record or winning but dependandent on other team's performance. So please dont give credit to Dhoni's captaincy here. Given the team strength of CSK, they should have been qualified to finals without much difficulty and also should have won this IPL 5. This shows Dhoni is not able to utilize the resources/talents properly and effectively. Thats the reason he is failing in international level also as a captain. Please remember that.

In international level, there are other factors also. Dhoni has no fault in this case. Ganguly is very much well aware of this

even its fluke that dint come for free they had to win 2 consecutive matches to reach finals..i dont think anyother captain would have raised so much to the occasion..

Sakshi looks very cute. She is always a distraction for Dhoi and team per se. She should not be allowed in the stadium. She and SRK can sit in the parking lot and smoke.

Ganguly cannot do everything wrong...NO. He has a point which needs to be given a chance moreso looking at what Dhoni did in those last Test series. Of course Gambhir is the best choice now as he has proved a point in not only leading KKR to the title but because he always gives the team as a whole the importance and does not count on individual performances, may he be whatsoever. Problem is Dhoni will never give up and is ably supported by BCCI. But yes Mr Ganguly is very correct.

ganguly was a great player b4 2004 came back n did well in 2007-08 but, hav failed in all d IPLs so his comments must not b take seriously as he luks frustrated by his inability n losses these days he is insecured as even dravid n sachin played better than him he has done wonders with TEAM INDIA but all dat is b4 2004 n dat is more than 8yrs ago

Dada built a team from scratch. There was a time when only sachin could bat. Then Dada came in and showed his dadagiri and made this dumb indian team into a good team. Because of greg chappel, he had to go. Dhoni got the bypass route and used all the players(Sehwag bhajji, yuvi, zaheer) built by Dada... So dont take the comments of Abhi seriously.... K Team built by dhoni is (Jadeja, and jadeja, and jadeja and jadeja and of course ashwin)

When u have sachin, sehwag, laxman, yuvi, gauti, bhajji, zaheer, dravid...even i can go and be a captain and win... He cant win and make a team with utter new ppl. I am hundred percent sure he will quit captaincy and act as if he tired, or nt enjoying or give chance to youngsters. coz he knows hes gonna lose lots of test matches.

year 2007, after winning t20 worldcup, after getting one day captaincy, experts would have told me to go with seniors... bt my heart said remove all seniors and bring small boys who can listen to me and do what i say... Have i made it large?? yes I removed dravid out of the team and tryed my best to stop from sachin geting to 200.
