When he will retire? May be he come and play in wheel chair for his 100th ton. Now a days he's not even leaving the ground after getting out.

Dhoni shows improvement but Praveen's selection still not OK
by Nikhil Shah on Mar 13, 2012 11:27 PM  | Hide replies

There were several corrections he made during this ODI series. Though India were not chasing in this match, and leaving it till was not applicable the selection of PK is still a big question mark.

Dhoni showed lot more aggression with bowling changes, field placements and overall approach.

Over the last one year PK has been averaging 46.8 and remains to be economical at 5.07, his poor SR can really cause problems because India cannot get to the tailenders after the 42 over unless Vinay and Irfan have been amongst the wickets.

Dinda is not economical enough and Vinay is still emerging, so as the tournament go along the need for wicket takers in power plays means that Rahul Sharma can be very effective and will be able to keep the opposition within 250 more consistently.

Jadeja may improve in the sub-continent but Praveen is much of a liability.

Pragyan Ojha is the best wicket taking bowler India has at the moment. Why not take him?

Left Arm Spin typically is accurate and has lower bowling SR. Ohja also needs to bat and field, otherwise Jadeja is a better choice for left arm spin.

Jadeja in the sub-continent average 28 as compare to 47 outside India. Over the next 2 matches Jadeja should improve.

why is Jadeja in the team?
by Happy Friday on Mar 13, 2012 11:07 PM  | Hide replies

Useless guy. He should have done something to Dhoni. May be his giving 80% of his match fee, IPL earnings to MS.

He started the CB series with 3 spinners and the Asia Cup with 3 seamers. Doing it backwards.

Instead of investing so much on Praveen Kumar, knowing that he will not be able to survive with his pace, Dhoni continues with PK.

India should continue with Zaheer, Nehra and Munaf since they have not retired. If not injured then they can mix with Irfan, Vinay and Varun until the youngsters are ready.

I think exposing Yadav and Vinay with out the seniors was not a good idea. Munaf and Nehra are still solid even though Nehra may not be available for the next WC like Zaheer, they can be phased out gradually.

good one! - Since he is an allrounder he need not bat or bowl well. He didnt bat well - hey he is a bowling allrounder. He didnt bowl well - hey he is a batting allrounder.

He is fielding allrounder. Only think he does well is fiedling.

And I wouldn't be surprise if Dhoni calls him Fielding Allrounder. Dhoni has unique ability to come up with the logic that makes no sense to most people..

Praveen's economical spell sometimes bowlers at the other end. There are 50 other bowlers in FC List-A in India who can do that. His pace was around 125kph and in the sub-continent he can be dangerous against a team like SL.

I think Dhoni got it backwards. In the CB series he started with 3 spinners and kept Irfan out in conditions ideal for seamers.

In Bangladesh, Jadeja should be able to hold on and extract something from the pitch, but Praveen needs to be swapped for Rahul Sharma for the series.
