WE ARE WITH YOU...FOREVER
by Varun on Mar 11, 2012 12:10 AM

May whatever come, take this earth, the moon, and the sun...you still stay above all...

If the world thinks you are retired...we say you have just started a new innings...that would last forever...we will cherish your passion for cricket, your crazyness for cricket..and your madness for cricket...ever...forever...

Please accept a head-raised salute from the people of Bangalore, and around the world...

Great Dravid
by Indian on Mar 10, 2012 10:39 PM

"Rahul Dravid has retired. The world's most respected cricketer over the last 20 years. A legend." - former England captain Michael Vaughan

"He was the model modern Test cricketer. He had a solid defence, tremendous concentration and discipline but also possessed handsome shots. Dravid is also one of the game's true gentlemen." - BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew

Salute to the attitude shown. He is also having a clean and non controversial personality.
Let us see whether his exit is a role model to those who are waiting for their thousandth century and those shaking bats.

clearly you neither understood cricket nor played cricket. Shastry was the most pathetic hated player of his generation - there was always a chanting
"Shastri hai hai" - It was his Mumbai lobby which kept himn in the team.Dhoni is a clear jerk in the test cricket. Your forgot Vishy, forgot Chandra forgot Kiri, forgot Azahar - you forgot Very Very special Laxman .. You are a looser my friend who simply do not understand cricket.

although dravid cant b replaced, however pujara is alternative
by vinay on Mar 10, 2012 06:57 PM

although dravid cant b replaced, dravid's capability of playing long innings n with technique lies with pujara. he is the only one who comes into mind to replace dravid. yes, kohli is also good but pujara is better than kohli n more talented. pujara looks better than kohli, to replace dravid.

no hopes from others.

The finest Indian cricketing gentleman. Period.
by rama rama on Mar 10, 2012 05:45 PM  | Hide replies

Recently during the England tour, Sachin scored 7 runs and Dravid scored in the 90s. But the Media reported that Sachin missed his century again and not about Dravid.
Even with such bias all around him about utterly selfish people he just played his game and did whatever the captain and team asked him to do.
He never played politics nor was involved in media manipulations like others pursuing records. Just tried to perfect his art and never bothered when the whole world called him second fiddle.
Going by the runs scored abroad, Dravid has the best averages. Still it will never be mentioned. Everybody is a tiger in one's own backyard playing with punies but its the outside battlefield that matters. This was statistically proved too in a survey done few years back that Dravid is the best batsman India has ever produced.
When Gundappa asked him not to retire, Dravid mentioned that he had to otherwise the youngsters will never get a chance.
Even though Dravid was overshadowed by his colleague's flair, but today the intent of his retirement has left him far ahead of the selfish record seekers who take the game and the country for granted considering they will never be let go because of their popularity.
Salute you Rahul Dravid !!!
Best wishes for the rest of your life.

Dravid was leading run getter in world in 2011.yet he calls quits.
in contrast Sachin and Laxman failed vs pace and swing in England and aus.
yet they are not ready to take a call

By your definition Dravid was slightly late (by 16 years) to give chance to "youngster"..
