Definitely, why not? still Haru is the best spinner of India.
by subrata banerjee on Mar 07, 2012 02:34 PM  | Hide replies

Aswin replaced Harbhajan as off spinner. But Aswin's performance in australian tour proved himself to be a most ordinary spinner which is available in India plenty. It was his great luck that he grabbed huge wickets on indian soil and proved damp squib in foreign soil because of lack of variety of spin and flight and of course experience. But Harbhajan is an experienced bowler having many weapons within hils control. His DUSRA is still a great threat to all batsmen around the world. In fact, Harbhajan is far better batsman also than Aswin. Should we forget Haru's unforgetable to centuries one in test and the other in one day international which once helped India to draw and in the other occassion India won the game. Then it was not Dhoni but Harbhajan was the real hero. If players like Aswin, Suresh raina, Jadeja, Dhoni can find their place in indian team inspite of their poorest performance in the last australian tour, why our most beloved Harvajan will be axed?

it does not matter who is in the side and who is not...

if somebody is in the side it is because of dhoni and if somebody is not in the side again he is not there because of dhoni...

people forget that if dhoni is not captain and gambhir, raina, sehwag, kohli whoever is made captain the players will more or less remain the same because they are in the team not because dhoni is captain but they are good and have potential...thats why they are given chances...

Harbhajan a must for Indan Teams revival.
by jescon on Mar 07, 2012 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

As a Team India had reached No. 1 position in all forms of the game and Harbhajan was an Integral Part of it.He was not only the Fighter in the Feild but also a Gel in the Dressing room to make the Team a champion. The disscussion of Veteran players retiring or non performing was never there when he was a part of the Team. After the Truimp of World Cup and also playing IPL he went with Indian Team to West Indies and Team won there.Though it was insult on him that when all senior players were rested Suresh Raina was made Captain and he as his Deputy.Coming back he Led Mumbai Indians to win Champions Trophy and also led Indian Greens to one day joint winners. There are much more other facts to be considered while retaining a winner Team member then the current statics.

We had simillar thoughts when Zaheer, Sehwag were out with injury. had they been able to save the team? Harbhajan was integral part of England series. After two matches he had 1-150 and 0 for 100 odd in two matches. Going back is not going to help. Harbhajan was good only when he had kumble piling pressure at other end. So - should we bring Kumble back also? Harbhajan has not proved he can be a match winner in recent times after injury. He has done very little in Ranji. Dont bring him back unless there is a case where he has proven his worth in domestic scene. Else - laud him for achievements and give him a place in hall of fame - but not back in Indian team

SAchin is the only player who will open in one format and bat at no.4 in another format as per convenience to score centuries...Such is his obsession for records..Can anyone recall professional opening batsman batting lower down the order in other format?

I told professional opening batsman my friend..gilchrist was a makeshift opener..plus a keeper who batted selflessly for the team's cause also he retired and made way for a guy like Haddin much less talented player..unlike Sachin..who selectors will say has no replacement..till 39

Did not perform too well with the ball.. infact he played more as batsman who can bowl partime-- But difficult for Bhajii.. general intelligence level of Ashwin is much superior to Bhajji and ashwin naturally will be a quick learner
