BCCI is interested in grooming T20 players based on the performance in IPL & CL. All they are busy in flaunting as World Champions of ODI cricket. MS Dhoni, Srikkanth & Srinivasan are taking Indian Cricket from Bad to the Worst with their dirty politics. Nobody is serious about Indian Test Cricket has gone to the dogs.

BCCI WAKE UP AT LEAST NOW
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHARAO on Mar 05, 2012 10:21 AM

Please see the following analysis in today's " The Hindu" titled " We did not deserve to be in Finals.
1. We finished with the lowest batting average of 28.01 and highest bowling average of 38.94
2. It's not a coincidence that our best batting rate is at Adelaide and Hobart. These are batsman friendly.
3. Our batting capability is ruthlessly exposed at SCG or MCG. Our batting is simply ripped apart by their home pacemen.
4. The top batting average of 53.28 by Kohli is seconded by Gambhir at 44. But Gambhir's performance was only at Adelaide and Hobart and not in other pitches.
4. Only Dhoni with an average of 51.25 has performed well in all our three batting collapses against Australia. He is our potential match finisher.
5. The most vitally important for our domestic cricket to set up competition is to prepare right tracks. Otherwise, any success away from our sub-continent will be bleak.
Our Selectors should at least now wake up and revamp our team for Asia Cup without having to elaborate on the need of omission of SRT and others, and giving chance to promising youngsters.
Let Asia Cup does not end with another humiliation and laughing Stock for Team India

"The itinerary allowed the players only one side game".I thought there were two side games before the first test.

The excuse and reason really is lack of exposure to the conditions. But that is not the teams fault, but BCCIs.

Why seniors left for Australia early on the pretext that they have to use to conditions there! May be their wives insisted on them to show important tourist places before the actual serious business started!

yes they did and still we are coming up short. The reason is that we are players of habit and are carrying over subcontinent shots to australia. But you can write more fiction and blindly abuse them. That your choice. But it does show how immaure you are. I sincerely hope this is not how your son or daughter see you while they grow up. :-(

Not sure why you would comment on his son or daughter. Seems to me you are the immature one and needs a lot of growing up to do.

BCCI must get serious about domestic cricket: Vengsarkar
by Hebbar R on Mar 05, 2012 09:54 AM  | Hide replies

Thr right term should be "BCCI must get serious about Cricket"!!!!! Presently it is just serious about making money. It does not have any respect for players and treats them just as money making entities. It is another argument that the players are no better. But, it is the responsibility f the BCCI to ensure that players play for the team and not for their individual records. For starters, why is it that the BCCI does not get fast pitches so that the players can train on them atleast prior to traveling to countries like Australia and South Africa? Why is the BCCI filled with Political heavy weights?

I agree with your statement that BCCI should get serious about cricket than making money. However it is not correct to say only absence of fast pitches is responsible for our defeats outside India. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are showing better performance than us outside their respective country in spite of similar pitches on which they play at home. The root of the problem is IPL which encourages players to play baseball on cricket grounds and kills their career in test cricket. Raina and Rohit are hot picks in IPL but see their performance chart! It is sliding south which clearly states that they just commit blunder to kell their own career. See how Raina was perishing in Australia after scoring 20s-30s. Our bowlers all throw wickets by hitting high and cought in deep! India team needs an intelligent coach like our present Hocky coach Michael Jobbs and not numb coaches.

Vengsarkar, you are funny
by Sowri Rajan on Mar 05, 2012 09:35 AM  | Hide replies

You are the one vocally supporting Sachin to play all matches, despite his poor form. Manoj Tiwary should have been given a chance in place of Sachin. When we have people like you advising about young talents, it is like a joke. Bombay lobby is the main reason for an inefficient selection system.

Sowri, Dilip Vengsarkar fought Mumbai Cricket election against Vilasrao Deshmukh and he lost, so how can he be branded as Bombay lobby. So please note that even if you have genuine grievance against Bombay lobby, not everyone from Mumbai are part of your so called Bombay Lobby. If it makes sense, please do apologise or else feel guilt conscious. Once again what is this name Sowri, some kind of joke?

Vengsarkar was the man who is alleged to have created trouble for Dravid during the earlier tour of England. SO much trouble that Dravid decided to step down on return.

Hebbar, u mention that Vengsarkar is the man who is "alleged"... so u r not sure, that is end of the matter. Stop moaning even if u r the greatest fan of Dravid as I am not sure u have a valid point there.

Sowri Rajan:

Sachin's poor form? Hmmmmm... he was the second highest run getter in Tests in Australia.. and was playing quite well in ODIs too..

It's a different matter that he wasn't scoring as prolifically compared to his own standards, but that doesn't call for his ouster from the team... does it?

And BTW, why do you think Tiwary should have played in place of Sachin? Why not in place of Raina, Gauti, Rohit, Sehwag or Dhoni?

Nope his performance does not, but age does call for him ouster. Although i would prefer that to be as per his standing as a great player.
