First of all GG is a class test player and MSD is an average test player. If a captain cannot inspire others with his performance in tests then he should not be a captain. Let mSD be captain in T20 and ODI only.

Politics started. Till today MSD is the best finisher & when it comes to responsibility, we have no one whether it's SRT, Gambhir or Shewag except MSD.

exactly...MSD is down now...but it doesn't mean he is all out...he will come back strongly...GG is not even the VC that is because of his attitude problem and shewag should be treated the same way...thats when the team's interest comes first

why this was not told when the team was no1 in test for more than a year? You people are more of a selective amnesia patient and always get excited by the short term acheivements.Though MSD has not performed to his potential in test and gamhir also has not performed well in the tours of australia and england.At present problem is with gambhir,sachin and shewag is that dhoni gets the credit for the performance.And they feel any body can captain this good side.Unfortunately, the present team does not have a player who can captain as well as msd or better him.

India became number one in onkly the second test series Dhoni was captaining. The first series first test Kumble was the captain, and after that he became captain for 2 tests. So the process of becoming the top test team started well before Dhoni was the captain. But after that it has been a down slide, they have lost last two series 4-0 and 4-0, so I think it is high time India should change their captain in tests, Dhoni has done nothing in tests for the last 1 and half years, it is a fact, and we have to face it. He can continue in limited overs cricket as a captain. By the way Dhoni has never been a good finisher in tests, he has never finished a test match, whenever India needed him he failed in tests, it was Laxman who won us many close matches in last two years.
