We fully agree that there is no replacement for Dravid. But there a quite a few to take ur place in the team eagerly and frantically awaiting a call , when it is happening? enough is enough!!

no one can replace the greats, but there should be a replacement after a time period,(or age period)this is sports not govt job that u have to play according to your mindset.if you are not giving youngsters a chance how can they prove themselves..greedy sachin pls make way for others...we are telling this with all our respect to you.

Australia will be a burial ground again with all the subcontinent greats we have blown up with Ipl success on dead pitches.Just big talk before the series, when the bouncy pitches come they run like mice.

Who cares for cricket anyway???Who cares for Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET and Long duration ranji&duleep trophy cricket, etc??? THIS GAME OF CRICKET WAS INTRODUCED BY CROOKED AND WICKED BRITISHERS LIKE MAKING AND MARKETING OF MAHATMA AND non-violence dirty trick to make all majority hindus mmorrns and ennuchs and cowards forever and the past 64 years shows that the crooked britishers were successful to make us a BANANA REPUBLIC of majority morrons with their dirty games, we must BAN Test Cricket forever and WE must shout that we will not allow Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET to make us poorer any more. One day cricket or t20 or t30 cricket ONLY must be allowed and THEY MUST BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED ONLY ON WEEK-ENDS OR HOLIDAYS so that we do not lose millions of working hours of men and women and youth any more and we do not remain poor forever due to useless and time-wasting and Boring TEST Cricket too. All patrrioti c citizens and sponsors MUST BOYCOT TEST Cricket and ranji and dulepp trophy cricket FORVER if they love the nation and want the nation to be supoer power in next 20 or 25 years too!

Agree with you that cricket affects productivity severly. Test Cricket does it to some extent, but thankfully people do not watch it continuously. ODI in that sense is a big enemy, sometimes entire day is lost.
I think if game has to move forward, T20 has to get more impetus, and that too, 3 hours is too huge. Maybe somehow they have to cut it down to 2 hours.

Dear Friends,
I completely understand the good thoughts n feelings behind your comments. But don't you think that rather than stopping a good kind of game , they should reduce the number of matches and number of channels showing those so that millions of hours are not lost watching? I am not a FAN of cricket after the match fixing issue came up ..but the only Test Series I enjoyed was when kumble was captain and team was exactly as powerful as Australia in top form. It was REAL cricket in that series ..

Boring sachin critics....
by Bingo on Jul 15, 2012 10:11 AM

Sachin is wise enough to take retirement decision.
Ganguly made laugh of himself playing in IPL. Adam Gilchrist is another example, Andrew Symonds tried the same for 2 years but failed.
A decision made in hurry can only earn disrespect.
At this juncture there is nobody who can replace sachin in tests after retirement of dravid. We have seen performance of young india in Caribbean recently.

Its not about replacement...
by senthil on Jul 15, 2012 08:10 AM  | Hide replies

not sure y ppl consider age and WC win as a criteria to retire. U guys need to play the sport to understand what Sach means by love for the game. As long as sachin can prove that he is one among the top 7 batsman in the country, he deserves a place in the team. Its very simple selection criteria, select the best 7 batsman in the country for the tour and not for future. Try and concentrate on the present rather than dreaming of future.
He is a national treasure and the joy he brings to everyone while on the crease is something special. So lets just hope he continues long...
