it was primarily because of kohli and gambhir partnership after losing sehwag and sachin early, and especially gambhir with the nerves of steel knock. gambhir was also my man of the match.

Final was actually won because of Gambhir and Kohli because they steadied the innings and prepared platform for Dhoni to bat.
what is viru talking about? why media is giving so much importance to what viru is talking. Its all mere nonsense. Viru a total failure with his bat in the last 10 odd innings & captaincy no way. Dhoni the best. The right person at this moment. India won the WC 2 cups just because of Dhoni's captaincy. Also his vital knocks whenever required. Viru is talking all these to get just media attention. Viru ia mere child in front of Dhoni.Dhoni the best Captain India has ever produced. Indian cricket has scled such great heights just because of Dhoni..............................

This is how Indian media behaves, no surprise. Waht Viru siad was , Indian team won WC because of strong performances backed by good capaincy by Dhoni. What is wrong it it ??
Sehwag must restrain from making such comment and creating a wrong environment within team. Dhoni himself has not decided to become captain of Indian, he was selected by National Selection Panel. If Sehwag has any problem with Selection of Captain, he should talk to BCCI about it. Talking all rubbish in public will not help him, rather his image will be tarnished and he only will be guilty of that. He should always look at the picture of Vinod Kambli, despite of have great talent and support of Sachin, he could sustain his position in team, because of his behavior. Viru must behave like a Matured and Team man.

100% right...Mr. Dig.S. is without any portfolio but he has his cricketing career ahead, even those who admire him will not like such trivialities.
Giving credit to one person, who did not play well in a single match except the finals, is demeaning other consistent performers because of whom India reached the finals. Sehwag is 100% right.

captaincy is also a performing act which dhoni excelled in each and every match of WC...even Pataudi without batting beat lloyd WI team in two wonderful tests with his captaincy alone...

Sewag is childishly jealous...it will do no good to him...suhc people should be dropped in the interest if team performance...Sewag is great but not a must..

So many...many... the way he brought himelf up before yuvaraj being left hander itself speaks volumes...the way he did not include yusuf pathan blindly..the way he did not include Ashwin because of lack of space in the 11...no emotions ..pure brain...

Biggest thing which went in our favour was that it was played in India and all players were in form.
This comment itself is enough to prove that Sewag can never become captain of indian team...He does not even understand that a strong team cannot perform without a proper captaincy...
Very bad..Veeru, its a simple logic, no captain but a team wins and ur high lighting it shows your deprivation and discontentment with your achievements. Be a disciplined player till u or Dhoni are playing as your personal aspirations or Dhoni's captainship are trivial in front of the nation's pride. Only thing that will be remembered is India won under the captainship of Dhoni...all other players will not be remembered at par with these two.

Then same goes with losses also ? Dhoni has to take blame for losses too in Aus and Eng. on the contrary he put the blame on seniors.

Absolutely right when someone does pride to the country praise him, when he earns humiliation for the country he is laible to be critisized. No one should be above the nation.
Let us have a reasonable discussion. While a team performance is based on captain's captaining, the same cannot be said about a captain's performance as based on the team's teamwork. In the WC winning case, both the captain who made a match defining knock & the team whose overall performance was so good as to reach the final. So both the captain & the team deserve praise & we cshould not distinguish any one seperately. But note that that should not take away the praise for the cup winning knock by the captain
