He expects all the credit when the team wins. But when India loses he squarely places the blame on seniors and others. And above all, he is a politician. No matter how badly his favourites like Raina, Ashwin and Jadeja perform he will never say anything against them and will continue to play them in the team.

Spot on.But most of Indian media who feeds on bcci money would not say this
I thought only Gambhir had foot-in-the-mouth disease of barking unnecessarily..... Even the media has this.... Infact, Sehwag is praising Dhoni here. Is it wrong to say Dhoni had a good team? Only Dhoni's captaincy should be praised but not the team? Sehwag never said anything demeaning Dhoni, but
PS: Maybe my Bhatija Vaidya will always disagree when said Dhoni has/had a good team, but not the rest of the human population.....

Vaidya is my friend from almost an year and we will speak however we want. Who the_F_are you to bark inbetween?
My question to sehwag is that ,Indian team that played 2007 cricket LOI world cup was almost identical, then y didn't we qualified even for the second round????1996,1999, we had similar teams but we didn't won...in 2003 we reached the finals but then again we lost it,why so??? and remember all those years we have world class batsmen in our teams. Now talking about 2011 cup,India had a similar team ,a team good in batting department and weak in bowling, most of the people with cricketing knowledge didn't gave India a chance for winning the cup but then this man Mr dhoni has something in him which is extra ordinary, seeing him as captain makes the players believe that they can actually do it,call it his luck his charisma ,whatever it is but he is special, and no matter what ever had happened at least the final match versus srilanka could not have won without his classy innings,2 wickets down early in world cup final,Indian team who often crumbles under pressure, needed a person like dhoni to be at the crease and he as everyone knows is a big match player....he delivered...that's it.A good leader is always required by a strong team if they want to win trophies and not just win matches and lose in finals. My sincere advice to Mr sehwag and Mr Gambhir is that please don't feel jealous and speak these kind of words in public rather concentrate on your game as you both are very integral part of team India.
1. Did CSK have a strong IPL team for the past 3 years, when they won CL, IPL etc 2. Did Rajasthan Royals have a strong team when they won the first IPL 3. Could you have won the world cup with the same strong team? 4. Have you looked at the stats of other captains with the same strong team and their win/loss ratios? 5. Did pakistan have a strong team when they won the world cup? 6. Are you saying that captains have no say whatsoever in the outcome of the game?

the team transition period was from 2000-2004 during sourav ganguly period. just compare the attitude of the 1999 team and the 2003 team. from then on its all changed. dhoni is enjying the fruits of the trees planted by sourav ganguly.
and yes india had a strong team and it wad the main reason. another reason was that it was played in india. had it been played abroad, there was no chance for the wc win.
the 2003 team was more capable of winning abroad. young sehwag destroying all bowlers, sachin was in prime form, ganguly was playing like anything, darvid was at his best, yuvi was a destroyer then also. but the bowlers ruined all the good works. sehwag still blasted his way to 84 in reply to show why he is called a danger.
the recent team is a shadow only. sehwag is old so is yuvi. the good furtune was that wc 2011 was played in india. the fluke captain dhoni played one innings in final that also in not very bad situation . india won thats good. dhoni got all credit. media prompted him like a god. it seemed like he single handedly won the cup.
all forgot about the 1. the main hero yuvi 2. solid performance by gambhir 3. solidity by sachin 4. 175 by sehwag in the opening game against the bangladesh. now all will say that was only bangladesh. dont dare forget the exit of 2007 world cup . 5 the damage sehwag caused to pakistan in semifinal to detroy their moral.
