India will loose the match and it is expected. It is a bit diappointed for complete whitewash.
If you want to win abroad, you should have aggressive captain. Dhoni is a toothless captain. He just ride on his luck and home advantage. When everyone praised Dhoni for his captaincy i really had a doubt on his ability. Now this defeat clearly torched light on his ability as a captain. Especially for a test cricket. For test cricket you should have a very agressive captain.
Dhoni is too defensive and he didn't mentor any new young players. I think India is moving in wrong direction.

if the 3 oldies r there n still v lose the series 8-0 overseas with 2 whitewashes, then its better to lose with new comers n youngsters atleast that vl b our investment for future ckt in ind.
how the 3 oldies r running even after their expiry date.

Piri:
What you mistakenly identify as "home advantage" for Aus etc. is actually "disadvantage India" for not having proper bowlers.
And you know WHY that is? Because we don't have sporting wickets in India. Hence our bowlers are slaughtered outside, but visiting teams come to India and maybe lose a series but certainly never get slaughtered.
Check our home record since 1932 and point out even one OVERWHELMING series whitewash you care to name...

You know that the 2-0 could almost have been a 1-1 unlike our innings defeats abroad?

If you say that, then we "almost" whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in the recently finished test series. :)

Don't get confused. Lively fast tracks should be prepared for domestic cricket. So that our players get accostomed to swing and pace better. But visiting teams should be played on turning tracks only at test venues, to 'test' them as they do to us when we visit them.
--and a hallmark of a great player in form. It is unfortunate that at this point in time, half the Indian team is made of great players who are aging and not in form and the other half are not so talented or skilled except Virat Kohli and Rohit mishra. Similarly in bowling department there is no player who induces fear in a quality batsman. Every team is accustomed to play in home conditions and faces trouble on foreign tracks. For India it is truer than for many other teams in the recent times. The greats who have the experince of test cricket are not in form and the younger generation doesn't have the tenacity and adaptability to suit different conditions. It is not a bad idea to have a mix of some bouncy and some slow turner tracks in domestic cricket to produce more versatile players.

Sachin was the second best Indian batsman in the recently concluded test series in Australia.

You both are right. 1. Ravi and Harsha will never say against Sachin. We should br these commentator from their opinions. Only expert commentator should be allowed. These 2 always market Sachin even if he plays bad shot. They are not marketing anybody else. This time pay attention to their comments. 2. Sachin was second. First was young guy. OK. Young guy was OK based on his experience. But all were failed including Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag, Gambhir. What you are saying that Sachin was top on the failed cricters' list. Do you really expect that from these greats?

Kapil Dev was also given his fair (some say unfair) share of chances to complete his record.
I am one of those million cricket fans disappointed with india's abject capitulation to eng and aus. but what i fail to understand is the amount of coverage abt spinning tracks - who is the whole world has the right to decide fast bouncy pitches and good pitches and spinning pitches are bad pitches? I do not remember any ICC law book that says these are good pitches and these are bad pitches!!!!!
The pitches are like that bcoz of the climate - we have even tried getting soil from perth, NZ , etc and due to excessive heat the pitches just behave the way they are!
best thing would be to cut short ranji teams and matches and have more A tours to Aus, NZ and Eng!

There are no good or bad pitches. The fact, however remains that pitches in England and Australia are bouncy and swings to favour fast bowlers. If an Indian batsman who is only trained in a slow turning pitches faces these kinds of pitches, he is more likely to fail. Hence we should prepare at least two or three of these fast and bouncy pitches in places with a cooler climate, there is a chance we may expect him to fare better in England or Australia. May be a pitch in Kashmir or Darjeeling, Simla or Ooty is worth a try.

Good fast lively tracks for domestic cricket and good turning tracks to play teams visiting India. That should be the the order.

Here in the US there is something called talk radio.. their radio life depends on how many people call during the show. So they throw some insane arguments and illogical provacative messages to stay afloat. Rediff is becoming one such. People after a while tune out.

Maybe if we saw India's home record of "whitewashing" opponents (like we regularly get done abroad), that might tell us the impact of those stats you referred to?

Great telling statistics!! What people forget is that even full strength Aus had lost 4 out of last 5 tests played in India. Ponting averages 26 and clarke averages 38 in India !!!!
