Vinay if you are replaced for your age in work inspite of giving your best 300 out of 365 days then how would you feel? You would feel betrayed...right? These guys are the reason why we left a part of our life for cricket. Show some respect. I am willing to see India lose few more before these guys hang their boots.

" I am willing to see India lose few more before these guys hang their boots " is exactly the mentality of an average Indian for whom Individual comes before society and nation .
Not surprising that we have so many "GODS" in the country and willing to add some more to the list .

Also it is not surprising that we have never excelled in any team sport , neither in Olympics nor anywhere else .

This is exaclty the mindset which has ensured that despite great individual talent we can never ever be an Australia ( which dominated World cricket for 2 decades ) nor West Indies of the past .

Hang those posters of your "GODS" and worship them while the world ridicules our performance and attitude .

Don't get disheartened my friend. Leander won Australian open doubles title at the same time on the same soil where Indian cricket team met its waterloo.

Yes, Leander's achievement is individual, but it does put the tri-color high in the sky.

Anil, here we are not talking of an average Indian who is loses job has nothing to eat, these cricketers have earned in crores and also even if you are performing at 60 you have to retire, in Sports late 30s is right time to retire as your body does not support your mind, also you said if you are performing then, sorry to say but these guys are not performing anymore.

Sachin has lot of money, wonder why he is not able to buy 100th?
by Sachidanand Gupta on Jan 30, 2012 04:40 PM  | Hide replies

This is surprizing, while he could buy 99, why is it not possible for him to buy just another, may be aussie economy is too strong now and aussie dollar is cosliest in history.

Vinay:

Good point. He failed in Eng compared to his standards...

High scores of 91 and 56 in England and 73 and 80 in Australia, with series averages of 34 and 35 indeed show that he failed compared to his usually high standards as in South Africa series average of 58.16... :)

The way the ex players react is something bafflesme .Laxman ,Dravid ,Sachin no doubt have done yemon servie - no one can ever question .We need to move - skill plus reflexes are key in such conditions . The way Indians played only shows total lack of imagination - every one is glued to the crease no foot work nothing .They will fail even against quality spin we see in Pakistan team . As far as our pace is concerned the less we talk the better every over is with two bad balls minimum - fails to understand Do they think ? It is time we concentrate on sport side and leave business side - look one dayers will also be a wash out with aus may be we will do well with the other useless team SL and come to final .Unless BCCI is able to fix something.

India's batsmen meek surrender don't make aussie attack great!!
by jaguar on Jan 30, 2012 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

well, Indian batsmen pathetic display doesn't mean that aussie bowling attack is world class.. Just a year ago, the same bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the english batsmen... It's more to do with india's inability to tackle decent pace attack on bouncy green pitches.. the real challenges for aussie bowlers lie ahead..

You have a point that Australia is not the best team. They are re-building. They can be beaten by England, South Africa and possibly Pakistan. They had a hard time against NZ. However, this just shows how weak India is. Perhaps India, WI, Bangladesh and Zim are the bottom 4 teams.

Indians are unfortunately very sensitive and emotional. They cannot restrain themselves. Dhony said after winning world cup, supporters heap praise when we win, but we face wrath in defeat. Sachin is 'Bhagvan' for some who demanded 'Bharat Ratna'for him. As his 100th century eluding him, his supporters are disappointed. No doubt, he will get his 100th century while playing in India. He may then decide to retire. Presently two factors for this failure in Aus. 1. BCCI, for programming IPL and too much cricket 2. Players love for money rather than Nation's prestige. Solution- Bring back Saurav Ganguly as coach, if not as captain. Bobby simpson was called back from retirement to lead Aus against India. Saurav will be very helpful in the resurrection of the Indian team.

rahul sachin laxman
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 30, 2012 01:43 PM  | Hide replies

sachin - he is become too arrogant. something like "no one can dare touch me" attitude.

rahul - he has become too timid, suppressing the freedom to play strokes and keeping himself tight..signs of old age..

laxman - not got his priorities right. become over weight, cant run, cant field properly, cant run between wickets.

the first is directly holding the country to ransom..second and third are simply following the shadows of sachin, ie., as long as sachin is there, we also will be there..

guru greg exactly wanted to shed this kind of attitude in our players, including sachin..but he was made the villian..except for dhoni and dravid, no one supported him..viru was teh first one to attack and that shows how come dhoni and sehwag can together achieve our goals..

The great guru greg also made Irfan Pathan and Virendar Sehwag go out of the team when they are out of form. If axing the out of form players policy was followed by the Australians, Hussey and Ponting won't be there in their team for the series and India would have won the first test atleast where the two half centuries from Ponting and one from Hussey definitely turned the match on his head. Are Ponting and Hussey youngsters.

but to the aus bowlers themselves..any coach would tell the bowlers to pitch the ball up..no one would tell bowl short or over pitch..

the aus bowlers were obedient and thats why they were successfull..

the indians are arrogant..both the batsmen and bowlers..

Dhoni should also understand that our bowlers have bowled for only 1 innings unlike Aus/England bowlers who had to bowl for 2 full innings :)
For the Eng/Aus bowlers, they had a tough job to use pace combined with line & length. For our bowlers, it was not at all a problem. They lack pace, line & length. The only pick of this series was Umesh Yadav in the bowling dept.
