Every time Sachin comes to the crease, Shastri starts going on about the impeccable technique, the number of centuries and his longevity even before he has scored 10. Its almost as if his salary is directly linked to the number of times he praises Sachin, something very similar to IPL DLF sixes. Even when he rightly criticizes the whole team he makes an effort to exclude Bharatratna even though its quite obvious that its time for him to retire.

You are right. If one has to criticise it should be done to all. Why single out batsmen from south india and leave out others?

it is better for BCCI to arrange one mini-test series in India against Zimbabve on flat wicket so that sachin Scores his 1ooth 100.so after that he will retire.Othrwise he will continue to play at the cost of Indian cricket.so please BCCI arrangeone min tiest series in India. And let shastri be the only commentator for this test series.

Check this dude Batting ace Sachin Tendulkar was the second highest scorer for India with 287 runs at an average 35.87. Even off-spinner Ravichandra Ashwin (163 from 6 innings) fared better than some of his fancied batting colleagues, averaging an impressive 32.60. Sachin was better than Dravid and Laxman in this series

If so, then why nobody commented when Sachin failed against England. Everybody's Mistake and failure should be highlighted. Why only Dravid.
bhajji was dropped due to poor form after england debacle. very right.
now drop the TRINITY -including the best thing to have happened to cricket , after their poor show in Australia. Mr Shastri have the guts to say that . do not become the stooge of BCCI. Yes ur moolah is coming from BCCI but also try to earn the respect of Cricket fans lest they start calling you names
shastri n gavaskar r partial n baised for sachin n lambast anybody else except sachin. thats ridiculous. if one has to take blame, all seniors hv to take blame including 3 oldies n sehwag. n dhoni needs to b kiicked out from test team.

:-)... you want the whole world to tell you that Sachin failed. True he failed, but by his own standards. By the overall Indian team standards he's still doing quite well...
But I like your idea that India can win only if Sachin scores big. I agree 100%... :)
These comments were expected from Shastri. As usual he has avoided naming SRT. He just doesnt have guts to speak against SRT, as does other ex-players, Gavaskar included. No one is questionig why SRT was not able to score a century in the last 2 foreign series. He is gifting wickets to bowlers like Clarke and Lyon. Even if others have failed, what is stopping SRT from scoring a century, like what Kohli did. Atleast he would have held fort at the other end even though wickets are tumbling. Ponting was able to score centuries and double centuries, then why cant SRT? Cant Shastri see this fact? These ex-players just cant accept the fact that this has been a total team failure, including SRT. Its unfortunate that these so called experts are highly biased.
