No other Indian player is trustworthy from the point of view of anchor role. Dravid some times has done well but he looks like spineless if attacked. India rarely produced players like Mohinder, Kapil Dev, Ganguly who were possessing killing instinct. Tendulkar has never never played when ever india needed him. Its surprising how media has kept mum on this. Media in btwn created hype against VVS. Fact is VVS has failed in this series only. If Tendulkar has privilege to be there in the team for 170 odd test mataches despite his useless performance on above parameters, then VVS shoudnt be criticised. But when it comes to Tendulkar the things get driven by sentiments. Typical Indian attitude.
Any ways this will remain till the end of the world because all these points have got to do with the attitude which indians have been messing up & missing.
At least few corrective steps would be to THROW AWAY POLITICIANS FROM BCCI, Appoint Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri & Kapil Dev there who understand what cricket is.

yes Sunny, but neither sunny nor sunny were typical 1 day players.Remember Shastri is first player hitting 6 sixes in an over in 1st class cricket.Still he won The top honor in 1day tourney in Australia in Benson &Hedges Trophy

it is better for BCCI to arrange one mini-test series in India against Zimbabve on flat wicket so that sachin Scores his 1ooth 100.so after that he will retire.Othrwise he will continue to play at the cost of Indian cricket.so please BCCI arrange one min test series in India.And let shastri be the only commentator for this test series.
