Dhoni and other ex-players are talking about senior to retire b/c they did not perform well in last 2-3 series, and always only 3 names are considered as senior Laxman, Dravid and Sachin. Are these only 3 players responsible for defeat? These only 3 players are seniors, what about Dhoni, Sehawag, Zahir, Gautam? are these players not seniors, are they still junior? anyone who has been in team for last 3 years are seniors and if they do not perform then they should also get removed from team.

not correct as they are still fresh,nimble-footed whereas the senior trio have lost the gumption to fight both mentally and physically as well having played without breaks anywhere any time.

So you are saying that Dhoni, Sehwag, Zaheer, Gambhir, Ishant etc. showed freshness, nimble footing and the gumption to fight both mentally and physically? :)

Dhoni & Ishant I can understand. But Sehwag could do better if he comes down the order. And GG needs a few spanks, thats all....... But think about the super seniors also. Isnt it better that atleast 1 of them retire and the remaining two are rotated??
well, the seniors will go alright, but Dhoni should be shown the door (in Tests) as well.. Test cricket is not his cup of tea/coffee/etc.. He should be left alone to play ODIs/T20s...He would only embarrass himself and the nation by doing his clown dance on the pitch.. Must leave Test cricket immediately.

exactly... he is conveniently forgetting the fact that he, sehwag and gambhir are also "seniors"...or does he consider only people who have played more than 15 years as seniors... most of the top order players have played at least close to a decade, and if that does not improve their skills, they should be shown the door...
yes seniors need to bid farewell, but it should not be done all of a sudden, such that it creates a vacuum... ask 1 player to retire this year (probably VVS), followed by Dravid next year and lastly sachin in the third year... till such time these experienced hands can educate the youngsters about the various aspects of the game so that they r ready to take on the world when their time comes...
