If it is not motivation, it is quality.
What else can be missing?

Haha, he cut short his England series to go for outings with her :)
When he ran out of money, he came back to play for CLT20.

Motivation
by zrehmaan on Jan 22, 2012 05:41 PM

"You have to be motivated and You shouldn't be playing cricket if you are not motivated". That's absolutely right, but it's not reflected in your performance. Meaning, you need a different kind of motivation, similar to the cash rich IPL where you get immediately and abundantly rewarded, implying that its the pocket that matters not the game or country.

Cricket is a game ....
by Dire Straits on Jan 22, 2012 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

Winning and losing is a part of it, that's true. But humiliation is not a part of the game which we fans are going through since the tour to England. You lose 2-1 like we did the last time we toured Australia, that's called graceful defeat. You lose 4-0 like we are about to in this series, that's called utter humiliation that will be remembered for decades.

Don't believe me? Let's me name 2 Test series losses where we were humiliated, I bet each one of you remember it vividly even though it happened decades ago -

1. White-wash by the West Indies at home right after the 1983 WC.
2. White-wash by Australia away from home in 1999.

We fans still feel the humiliation that we went through back during those defeats.

THE YOUNG& INEXPERIENCED PACERS NEED CONSTANT GUIDANCE
by damodaran mohan on Jan 22, 2012 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

Losing Three Tests on the back of 4-0 English white wash that too with large margin and within 3-4 days ! A total of 14 innings of no consequence with likes of a ‘fluent’ Sachin in the side ! Gambhir must explain this first. Once the team gets answers to this then they can make a comeback in the 4th.What has been happening is that the team think tank allowing things to drift continuously w/o applying the brakes or course correction. The question is whether the team at least now is ready to wake up and do the necessary course correction ? Is it ready to play both Virat and in form Rohit ? Is the team ready to strengthen bowling by bringing in say five bowlers or bring more variation, say a double-spin attack or whatever change the team management feels necessary? Problem so far has been the Captain has been very rigid and stuck to just one plan. At Perth when the Aus openers were running away with the game with U Yadav and I Sharma spraying all over the place the Captain looked just plain bored and indifferent not bothering to change to spin or even guide the pacers properly. Only after an hr. when the Aussies had piled up a sizable score on the 2nd day U Yadav improved by pitching it up with line and length close to stump he got his wickets and then others also joined. Why can’t the Captain and other seniors be more pro-active continuously motivating and guiding the young inexperienced bowlers?

Because Dhoni and others , including BCCI and coach are grumpy old fellas so are NOT mentally agile.

WTF
by Jiju on Jan 22, 2012 04:03 PM

What is he saying "Indians are known to bat freely. We have a middle order who are boundary-hitters. But they never let us hit those boundaries".

1. When did Indians bat freely on pitches? Maybe 1 year ago in South Africa where we could have won the series if Dhoni did not set a defensive field when SA was 97/5. After that, 2011 was all flat track wins & rest whitewash!!

2. Middle order are boundary hitters, what about openers, Ducks?

3. Last one is ROFL, "they never let us hit the boundaries" :)

If not batting, please learn how to face the media from seniors :)
