Sehwag is flat pitch bully not a fit opener.
by sanjay on Jan 21, 2012 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

Send him 3 or 4 down place. His technique is exposed. No sane bowler is giving him width he wants on AUS NZ SA ENG Pitches. So he being tiger there are remote chances. Till this series Dravid Sachin etc have become virtual openers. He hardly lasted 20-25 overs. So not a fit opener in these conditions.

actually top players should be rotated to keep them in top form..no one should take his place for granted..this way if any one player is injured the team does not have to look for fresh players..

Most Indians take win and defeat too emotional. No player intentionally plays bad since they reach the position after a stiff competition. We should learn the art of accepting victory and defeat graceously

Winning and losing is a part of the game. Winning can be a narrow one or a big sweep. Like wise losing.
Accepting defeat can be gracious if a fight is put up and the opposition is made to work for the victory. In Aus and England,it was a miserable performance similar to Holland or Kenya or Canada. This kind of defeat cannot be explained off as "sporting spirit". It is simply lack of application and strategy. Hence, we should learn to call a spade a spade.

Sehwag away is of no use
by Indian on Jan 21, 2012 05:16 PM  | Hide replies

Sehwag is a matchwinner against low quality attacks on sub-continent pitches. no doubts on that. eg the recent double century against a lowly WI on a flat useless pitch in Indore.
Sadly outside sub-continent where u need talent n technique (both of which Sehwag lacks sorely) he is laden footed and is almost caught napping on rising deliveries..
Indian think tank must say goodbye to this gr8 star and ensure that we induct someone who does not have a lot of baggage to carry, and who is truly worthy of being in the side.

Dont forget he has scored 195 in two sessions on flat pitch of Melbourne against a lowly Australian attack comprising of Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, Bracken etc. Also he has scored century on debut on a flat seaming track against lowly bowlers like Donald etc. Hence you are correct. He should be dropped immediately and in his place good players like Badrinath who was made to hopp on a lifeless, grassless but bad wisket for batting by a great fast bowler of this generation Tsotsobe and recently in one dayers in west indies by a great bowling attack should be played

ashambani: wait for the entire tour of australia to get over...
just like his receding hariline his form too is on the decline and past records do not count anymore....
if one cannot peform he has to make way for someone else.
and oh yes I do not think it will be the end of world cricket if sehwag is asked to go.

Scoring 1 out of 10 times should be no yardstick for success n to retain ones place in the side...

plaster baba too can leave.
he is too busy concentrating on personal milestones.
But on one count I am sure you will agree with me..
As far as talent or technique goes plaster baba is miles ahead of this overhyped pot-bellied sehwag.
