Breaking news : BCCI is working in overdrive to confer test status to Bermuda and Nepal. Then a juicy 6 test series can be arranged with each and the seniors can play on another couple of years and smash every record in sight.

I wish there were more sensible cricket lovers like you in India who realized that in cricket, the individual performance & record didn't matter & it is WINNING OR LOOSING that mattered. It's the total performance of the team that mattered & in this context I fully agree with your views Mr. Pappu Chidambaram. Hand eye co-ordination & natural refluxes diminish with advancing age which is a natural phenomena & I wish the senior players of the Indian team realized this fact & made way for the younger generation gracefully.

Drubbing is bad bad word - for those to say it
by Akhilesh Mohan on Jan 20, 2012 11:06 PM  | Hide replies

No mater what people write or say about the recent poor show of our indian team - atleast we Indians must stand by them - lets face it gracefully and condemn no one

Sure let the series finish and then there will be certainly a lot to think about in the BCCI board room

That would be the time to protest peacefully and even manifest if BCCI doesnt mend its ways of selection

Cricekt is team game - though we expect some one to save the team on a day.

A player has been chosen amongst the best - if for some reason difficult to fathom a combination of players does not click on a series and the conditions are really trying - the bowling has been realy really good to the say the least - we should only stand back and admire

Critisizing our players instills fear and pushes thme into a syndrome -- shall I not perform I am out no matter what talent I have - this is the worst we can give as fans to any sportman-

So please write positively about indian cricket and lets all hope and pray that they find their bearings in the 4th test match and salvage their respect.

We want our tendulkar to achive the following:

1. First player to reach 100 centuries.
2. First player to play 200 tests.
3. First player to score in excess of 17000 runs in tests.
4. First player to play for 25 yrs of international cricket.

and finally,

5. First player not to have played a match winning knock or match saving knock in his otherwise illustrious career.

the pian in your mail is felt by millions -

be positive and hope for the best - writing this wouldnt change the situationn not does it do any good to the morale of the players

no matter how good or bad one is - no wants to end up a looser -

ABC XYZ :

Well said. I think even Umesh Yadav will do similar things. ONLY take useless wickets instead of "winning" matches for India. :-)
