Welcome defeats!

To bring all the overhyped cricketers down to earth. There was too much hype, too much craziness and too much awe towards cricketers..
i think great deal of the advt contracts should be awarded to other sporting personailties as well..

We are sick of Dhoni exhibiting the helicopter shots and Sachin advertising for Toshiba, MRF and running around in his living room promoting ITC biscuits or for "boost".

This should STOP once for all, after the great debacle down under...

And should stop until they perform well in England, SA and Australia and recapture the No 1 status...

guys dont get fooled around by MNCs which just play on the people's sensitivities and promoting their products big time.. I shudder to think about the viewers plight if Indians have even managed to draw couple of test matches in England and Australia..

let other sports personalities also see some money in their lifetime..

A very very Practical Decision
by silver mani on Jan 18, 2012 07:12 AM

Laxman is right.Guys This is India, people will forget the WhiteWashes very soon but if he quits then this golden opportunity to make millions and a celebrity status will be gone.He will be a nobody then.Just ask Sachin or Dravid for retirement,I bet their answers will be same as Laxman. Its nothing personal just business and money.

The bain of our cricket is inability to take tough decisions. Inability to face defeat.Inability to face reality.Inability of a vision. All these inspite of huge amount of money with BCCI.Let us start building new young players. If the non performing players specially the seniors are not willing to retire drop them as we can not play cricket on past glory.People do not mind that much even if we are loosing while building a new team

M Alem ,what r u talking my friend?Even if we play them,we are still getting WhiteWashed. Is there anything worse than WhiteWash? Moreover India has crossed 300 just once in 7 Tests. So Why not a young replacement.

If Laxman is not dropped or retirement is not announced, then its
by cc man on Jan 18, 2012 03:01 AM

If Laxman is not dropped or retirement is not announced, then it will be demoralizing to youngsters in the tour. As part of phasing out approach, selection comittee and team management should take harsh decision in regards to Laxman so that it will be warnings to Sachin and Dravid. Especially, BCCI and Team management should clearly tell Sachin the following.
"Look Sachin. We know what you have been contributing so fat but at this age with amount of experience, we expect you to deliver when it mattered most so that its inspiring to youngsters as part of phase out approach.

No need for Lynch Mobs
by Priyadarshi Bhattacharya on Jan 18, 2012 12:45 AM  | Hide replies

Instead of these lynch mobs prematurely ending the careers of players who can still contribute to Indian cricket, I'd say we need to rotate the seniors over the next couple of years. Select 2 out of the big 3 for a Test series and then for at least 1 Test of a 3 match series or 2 Tests of a 4 mathc series, play with only 1 of them in the team. This will give them a chance to guide the young players coming in while at the same time getting the team gradually used to playing without them. They will have more motivation for playing id they play less matches also. Something similar can be done for Zaheer Khan.

Yes, for instance Dravid scored 3 centuries in England in 4 Tests, Tendulkar has the highest batting average among all the Indian batsmen in Australia, Laxman hasn't succeeded, but every player, young or old, is allowed a couple of bad series. Less than 12 months ago, Tendulkar scored 2 centuries and Laxman played a great innings at Durban and that is why India tied 1-1 with South Africa on bouncy pitches abroad. One year cannot have made them old, slow etc. etc.
